    Open For Application: Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR)

    The Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) was open for online application from 15 Jan - 15 Feb and is expected to benefit 8.1 million recipients with an allocation of RM6.5 billion. The BPR is a new financial aid scheme for Malaysians that will replace the previous Bantuan Sara Hidup (BSH). Cash aid will be disbursed in two installments to applicants that fall under one of the four categories eligible for the scheme.
    Important dates to take note of:
    • BPR Application Period: 15 Jan - 15 Feb 2021
    • BPR First Payout: April or May 2021
    • BPR Tambahan Payout: 29 June onwards
    • BPR Second Payout: September or October 2021
    *payout dates are subject to changes.

    BPR Tambahan: Additional Handouts From July Onwards

    Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin unveiled the nation's economic recovery plan (PEMULIH) on 28 June which includes various economic stimulus packages. He also announced that the government has agreed to pay an additional RM500 in the Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) handouts in July (previously announced under the Pemerkasa Plus scheme).
    Those who have received their first BPR payouts in May will receive additional handouts known as BPR Tambahan. BPR Tambahan payments will be made in stages from 29 June onwards and will benefit 6 groups of individuals.

    BPR Application Eligibility And Criteria

    Malaysia citizens that fall into one of the following 4 categories will receive payouts of different amounts.

    1. Households with income of RM2500 and below

    • With one child: RM1200
    • With two or more children: RM1800

    2. Households with income between RM2500 - RM4000

    • With one child: RM800
    • With two or more children: RM1200

    3. Households with income between RM4001 - RM5000

    • With one child: RM500
    • With two or more children: RM750

    4. Single Individuals

    Single individuals that satisfy both criteria below will receive a one-off cash aid of RM350.
    • Earning RM2500 and below
    • Aged 21 - 59 (or aged 18 - 59 for OKUs)

    Who Needs To Submit A New Application

    Malaysia citizens who fall into one of the above eligible categories and have not received the BSH 2020 or BPN 2.0 aid will have to submit a new application for BPR 2021. If you've already applied/received the BSH 2020 or BPN 2.0, you are not required to submit a new application (you may update any changes to your details on the BPR website should there be any).

    1. Log in to the official BPR application website here.
    2. Fill up your personal details.
    3. Attach documents required (e.g: marriage certificate, divorce/death certificate) - documents are accepted in the PDF, PNG, JPG, and JPEG format, and you can upload up to a maximum of 3 supporting documents.
    4. Fill up your 'maklumat wakil' (can be your spouse, parents, child, sibling, or grandchild - single individuals may select 'tiada wakil').
