Exhibits cover everything from the indigenous Ainu people and their traditions to the region’s wildlife, geology, and development, with engaging displays that blend artifacts, dioramas, and multimedia. The building itself is spacious and modern, surrounded by greenery, making it a pleasant spot to stroll before or after your visit. Whether you’re interested in history, anthropology, or simply gaining a deeper understanding of Hokkaido beyond its landscapes and cuisine, the museum provides an insightful and worthwhile experience.

The woolly mammoth fossil inside is breathtaking, and the other exhibits about Hokkaido are wonderful. You can take your time looking at them without feeling bored.

It's a small and beautiful place with poor signal, but the counter still helped to confirm it immediately, which delayed about 10 minutes. It is recommended to take a screenshot and scan the QR code first to save time.

Purchasing a combo ticket allows you to visit both the Historical Village and the museum, making it well worth the trip. You can easily spend an entire day here, exploring until your feet are sore. Absolutely fantastic!

The staff at the museum counter seemed unfamiliar with the system and it took a while. I ended up opening the website myself and displaying the code so it wasn't a problem. The customer service was very good, but I think it would have been quicker to just buy the ticket at the counter.
