The castle still under rebuilt but it was great to see the whole rebuilt insights on the planning , tiles making , wood selection , wood structural engineering , paint souring….etc. we enjoyed our visit .

New Year’s Day visit was really awe inspiring and amazing particular with live musical performances held by castle to welcome New Year. kids enjoyed the walk around castle and some hands on activities

Now the only things worth seeing are the sturdy walls and gates, but restoration work is progressing, and I'm looking forward to its completion next year. There was something called Shuri Soft. It's convenient to buy tickets online (KLOOK).

I was able to use it at a great price because I purchased it in combination with a coupon. You can enter the main observation area (a paid area) even during a typhoon, but be aware that you cannot enter it when there is lightning. Also, it takes about 15 minutes on foot from the nearest Yui Rail station to the entrance of Shuri Castle, but I recommend taking the bus from Kokusai Street, as it's only about a 5-minute walk. Facility: Shuri Castle Observation Area Service: Simply present your voucher to the staff. Ease of booking on Klook: It was great that you can cancel until the day before.

Reconstruction Exhibition Room Exhibits the remnants of the lion tiles that glared from the roof of the main hall of Shurijo Castle before the fire, and the roof that was re-thatched using the tiles remaining on the north side of the Hoshinmon gate.
Lumber Storage A lot of lumber is needed to restore the Seiden. A "timber warehouse/processing plant" to store and process the lumber and a "actual size area" to draw full-scale drawings were completed. * The contents of the exhibition may change depending on the progress of the restoration work.

"Shuri Castle" boasted of its majestic appearance as the center of politics, diplomacy and culture of the Ryukyu Kingdom. In 1992, it was restored as a national park to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Okinawa's reversion to Japan, and in December 2000, the "Shuri Castle Ruins" was registered as Japan's 11th World Heritage Site. In October 2019, a fire destroyed the main buildings, including the Seiden. Currently, under the theme of "Reconstruction to show", we are open to the public to see the restoration efforts and the state of reconstruction.
