It was a lovely day. pick up from the lodgings was arranged and was ok. at the pier we were easily split into groups and swiftly boarded the speedboat. the travel time to first swimming spot was about an hour. we then could snorkel for 30 minutes (fins and masks are given out for the trip). after a short trip - we stopped at another snorkeling spot for another 30 minutes. after that we landed on an island (dreamy one) for lunch (it was good). we had loads of time there to eat, lay out on a beachfront swim in the most amazing water. we had close to two hours on the island. after that we went to final snorkelling spot fo about 40 minutes. on the way back we got fruit on the boat. water and soft drinks were on the boat to be taken at will. overall - very good and relaxing day!
The entire experience was amazing, right from perfectly timed hotel pick up to group gathering at the pier to the 7 hrs speed boat trip to the drop off point and tranfers to the hotel. only one suggestion for vegetarian meal option to be improved. snorkel locations were perfectly picked out for best coral views. overall, value for money ideal tour package from Tin Adventure. not to miss out when at Lanta. special thanks to the team to accommodate a last minute hassle free schedule change (one day date shift) to help my family member yet time to recover from a minor health issue. I'll keep coming back.
Great tour, the focus is on snorkeling, which is what I wanted. We stopped at 3 snorkeling sites (2 on Ko Rok and 1 short stop near Ko Haa). The water was cristal clear and full of sea life. Snorkeling was also possible on the beach on Ko Rok where we stopped for lunch. The masks provided were good quality and they had soap on board to prevent fogging. Soft drinks and water were available on board. The tour is vegan/vegetarian-friendly and dietary needs were checked before departure. The lunch was too early for me (around noon) so I skipped it, but I believe the veg* option included rice & veg. Fruit was also provided. Unlike boat tours from Krabi, none of the places we visited were crowded and the boat wasn't crammed full, either. We had very rough sea throughout the tour but the boat captain was competent. The boat left Lanta probably around 10am and returned to port at 3pm. NOTE: This is not the 4 islands tour, you'll visit 2 different islands. I don't recommend this tour if you don't want to snorkel, the tour doesn't visit any particularly insta worthy beaches. I recommend wearing long sleeved shirt when snorkeling because you'll burn otherwise (even when it's cloudy).
There were many people on the island for lunch, but it was not crowded. There were toilets on the island, and the waiters were very enthusiastic, funny and helpful. The water quality of Rock Island and Ha Island was very good, and I also encountered a school of fish, which was really lucky.
We booked this tour one day ahead and it was amazing! I read good comments on the staff but the truth is they are beyond good. Especially the captain, he took such a good care of my son, helping him swimming when he was tired & showing all kind of sea creatures ❤️
It is convenient to get on and off the speedboat for snorkeling, and the tour guide is very interesting! Fins, goggles and life jackets are provided. Remember to bring your own towel, because your body will be a bit cold after getting on the boat. Lunch was delicious and water and drinks were provided. Finally, there are fruits and chocolate biscuits as snacks, which are really good!
We had a great day! Koh Rok beach is beautiful! There are big monitor lizards on the island. Easy to see them, in fact they are the ones who come to meet us! The buffet was very good. Great snorkeling spot (fish, starfish, etc.). Very well organized, the crew very friendly! A big thank you to them for taking good care of my 5 year old son!
We were a group of 4 and enjoyed our day. The snorkeling was good in clear water, not as good as Komodo Islands, but good for most. Sitting towards the back of the boat meant is was difficult to hear the guide. Also, we had a large group taking up the entire back of the boat with their picnic lunch and large floaties, non English speaking so they didn’t care what the guide was saying, which added to the problem. Lunch was excellent and Ko Rok is stunning. Appreciated the extra beach time. Maybe ask guests to clean up and contain their belongings within the small space? It did make a mess for everyone to walk through. Rok island viewpoint needs some shrubs trimmed to enjoy the view but that’s the park’s work to do.
The sea was exactly like in the pictures. The staffs were nice and the transfer was on time to pick up from the hotel.
We had a lot of fun! The boat was full but not too crowded. Our guides were great and even showed us where to see cool things while snorkeling that we would’ve missed on our own! Lots of water (and some pop and orange juice) provided so you don’t need to bring your own. Do need to bring a towel if you want one (recommended as it’s good to sit on when you get beach free time after lunch). Highly recommend this trip!
Good to know
Get picked up either by speed boat directly from the hotel beach or by car from the lobby (depends on the location of the resort). Cruise on a modern speed boat from Koh Lanta towards Koh Rok in less than 1 hour with a professional skipper and knowledgeable fluent English speaking tour guide. The new and spacious boat offers both outdoor and indoor saloons, clean toilet and is equipped with the latest safety and navigational equipment. All our crew are trained in first aid and CPR.
Make a first snorkel spot in the stunning lagoon of Koh Haa, made up of 6 rocky outcrops located half-way from Koh Lanta to Koh Rok.
Continue to Koh Rok which is protected as part of Mu Ko Lanta National Park. The twin islands are some of the most beautiful in Thailand’s Andaman Sea with brilliant white sand beaches, crystal turquoise waters, expansive coral reefs and metre-long land monitor lizards.
The sister islands of Koh Rok consist of Koh Rok Nai (the 'inner' island which is closer to the mainland) and Koh Rok Nok (the 'outer' island). They are separated by a 250 m coral channel and much of the corals are not more than 5 metres under the surface and can be easily explored with a snorkel. We advise you to bring your GoPro or waterproof phone case to capture the amazing underwater scenes.
During the trip you will make several snorkel stops around Koh Rok and enjoy a delicious Thai lunch served on Koh Rok Nai. Spend leisure time strolling on the long white sandy beaches of Ao Man Sai, Laem Thong and Sarn Chao Beach. For the more sporty of you, follow the trail leading up to Pha Samed Daeng, a viewpoint affording sweeping northern vistas to Koh Ngai and Koh Lanta.
Book this tour with confidence to enjoy the best quality service you deserve on your holiday. Remember that it's only available from 15th October to 15th May every year due to the tropical monsoons and the closure of the National Park during low season.
