You will learn how to make makgeolli and make it together. After that, we will make a traditional dish for snacks and food. Anju means a snack or food that goes well with alcohol.
We will enjoy our snacks by tasting our pre-made traditional wine. This is because makgeolli needs fermentation time, so you cannot eat your own makgeolli right away. You will take your makgeolli and ferment it. We will teach you how to ferment it.

Reviews
Lovely class in a chill, cosy and clean setting. Got to learn about the process of making makgeoli and the anju. The facilitator was welcoming and mindful of our needs (e.g., accommodating to dietary requirements, sharing tips to get the makgeoli back home via plane safely, getting bubble wrap for the makegoli jars just in case). She even went out of the way to make her favourite side dish for us to try!
Great experience ! She is really passioned about what she does and you can see it, she enjoys explaining the makgeolli creating process, is friendly. We had a very good time and we are excited to taste our own makgeolli ^^ the cooking class is super interested as well, easy to recreate at home once you've learned it
I think its a nice activity to make with friends or as a couple. There is someone translating everytjing in english of you dont speak well korean. The beginning was a lot of explanations on "how" to make it sonit was a little too much for me but my +1 loved it. We made some amazing veggie pancake and tried very nice makgeolli (the best ive ever had)
Very happy to have done this class - super sweet, comes from a history of chefs as her mother is a cook, takes the photos for you if you’d like, and learned a lot about Makgeoilli that I found very interesting. We laughed and had great conversations too!
A very enjoyable experience. The instructor was very kind and considerate. I learned a lot about Korean traditional food culture in the class. Highly recommended.
The whole session is very pleasant, Esda is very welcoming and knowledgeable. She is patient in teaching us and very willing to answer all our questions! would definitely recommend this to my friends!
My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon and were so excited for this experience. Edsa was such an amazing instructor! We enjoyed talking with her and learning more about her. She was so attentive and informative as she walked us through each step with clear instructions and hands on assistance. We enjoyed learning about the process and how she prepared each ingredient. For dinner, Edsa prepared a delicious squid and chive pancake dish. Absolutely loved it all!
It was a wonderful class and great experience. The class was mostly filled with Koreans-some who had come back a second time to share the experience-but the assistants were very thoughtful in translating and making sure we felt included. the food was great and the wine we sampled was delicious. We can’t wait to see how the one we made turns out!
The class was perfect, beyond my expectations. The teacher was the kindest and the making of makgoelli was super easy and fun. Definitely a must try when you are in Korea! You can take the rice wine you made back to your country, which also a big plus. I highly recommend to do it with friends or family.
love the hands on experience. Esther teaches and explains well, allowing us to understand the process of makgeolli making. very enjoyable, will go home and make more using this knowledge.
