8-Day Ili Pastoral RV Adventure (Duku Highway Crossing)

Overall journey, we will rate 8/10. With caravan, we can really enjoy the scenery with 180 degrees view. No worries on toilet issue, but bear in mind no 'big business' allow in caravan toilet. Key thing for foreign visitor, there are 3 places in itenary (D5,6) is not accessible by foreigner as it is military related. the local tour agents will contact you for the changes after the confirmation. Other than that, Dunhuang camping site toilet and shower cubicle really not up to mark, we didn't take shower on that night, the next morning breakfast also not include. but overall the experience is still very good, we do think the caravan make lot of difference compare to bus tour, my husband even slept on the caravan bed daytime while the driver continue driving, this is important as the trip has lot of long drive journey.

RV butler and team was great and accommodated our requests whenever possible. But there are a few places which are inaccessible to foreign visitors, so that creates a lot of inconveniences for tourist spots and accommodation. For example, RV butler had to drive 2.5h to nearest town to check us into a hotel. It could have been better planned. The RV also broke down a couple of times (could not start the engine, leaking oil), so the RV should be checked and better maintained before the trip.

This Qinghai-Gansu Grand Loop trip was fantastic! The itinerary was well-designed, covering classic attractions like Qinghai Lake, Chaka Salt Lake, and the Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes. The pace was just right – not too rushed, but still allowing us to fully appreciate the magnificent scenery of Northwest China. A special shout-out to our RV concierge, Master Wang Xiaobing! His service was outstanding. He meticulously arranged our meals and accommodations throughout the trip, making the entire journey relaxing and worry-free. The RV travel style was also innovative, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way and relax in a comfortable environment. A perfect experience! Participating in klook’s eight-day Qinggan tour this time is a fulfillment of my long-cherished wish. Whether it’s the colorful Danxia in Zhangye, Dunhuang or Angkor Wat, I can see the power of nature, the perseverance and perseverance of the people.
