Guide
ASMUI (Asumui) is a mythical sacred site within Yanbaru National Park, originally named "Daisekirinzan." It has recently been revamped and upgraded to ASMUI Spiritual Hikes, reinterpreting the profound heritage of this land with Ryukyuan mythology and spiritual nature experiences at its core.
"Asumui" means "four-linked rocky mountains" in the Ryukyuan language. According to Ryukyuan mythology, this is the sacred starting point where the creator god Amamikyu (Amamikiyo) first descended and created the Ryukyu world. Since 2015, this site, known as "Amamikunumu (Amamikyu no Mori)," has been officially designated as a National Place of Scenic Beauty in Japan, becoming an important milestone in the preservation of Okinawan culture.
