Tokashiki Island Tour & Whale Watching Experience

We loved this experience! We were very lucky with the weather the ocean was calm and pleasant. The island was beautiful, and we could swim freely or join extra activities such as snorkeling or the glass-bottom boat (these need to be selected on Klook in advance). We only chose the island option, and the two hours went by very quickly with lunch and time to explore the beach. The guide was extremely kind, and everything was well explained. Finding the whales wasn’t easy, but our captain and guide were patient, and we finally spotted them at the end! It was an amazing and unforgettable experience.

absolutely no words if you’re coming to Naha you have to do this tour. it’s a must! the guide was so informative and also they put in a little more effort to watch the whale for a little longer.

It was very well organized and orderly. You can buy motion sickness medication at a drugstore; I bought "Shiroi Usagi" (White Rabbit) motion sickness pills, which come in packs of 4, 6, and 10. Take them half an hour in advance. If you want to photograph whales, I recommend sitting at the front and standing at the bow of the boat; otherwise, you'll mostly be taking pictures of people's heads from the sides or back. We didn't see any large whales, just a small one, which was quite cute and surfaced several times. I imagine with so many people watching it, it must have felt a bit overwhelmed.

Having a Korean guide made it very comfortable. We might have gotten a little seasick because they kept searching until we found whales.

The staff is very attentive. They offer motion sickness medication for 500 yen at the pickup point. The boat is comfortable, and the experience is impressive.

Originally I just wanted to watch whales, but this group can go to Tokashiki Island for a small amount, and lunch is included (although it is just a simple curry rice). Tokashiki Island is super beautiful, and the beach is really clear and sandy! What a treat these two hours were! The only shortcoming of this group is that there is no direct public transportation to the gathering pier. I have to walk from my hotel for more than 20 minutes to get there. However, there are some scenic spots along the way: such as Boshang Palace, Confucius Temple, etc.

The itinerary planning was very meticulous. I hadn't originally purchased the glass-bottom boat tour or the uninhabited island tour, but they allowed me to add them on-site. We saw whales many times, which may be due to the season, but I felt very lucky.

it’s definitely an experience where you need to be prepared to ride in a boat for 3 hours and not see a single thing at all, which is unfortunately what happened to me. Obviously that’s not the company’s fault, but I do wanna note that there refund policies are a bit unclear. Although their Klook page they say that a full refund will be provided if no whales are spotted and that conditions apply to the refund, you can’t find any of the conditions listed anywhere. somewhere in the “before you book” section, they completely contradict themselves by saying that refunds aren’t provided at all. it’s only until after you book when you get a message saying that refunds are only provided during a specific time of the year

Planning was poor. The guide with us was quite young and seemed fairly inexperienced. She had difficulties translating certain instructions into English which is understandable and fair, but important information wasn’t relayed to English speakers at all after she gave up and just did the you in Japanese. Also did not see a whale despite it being peak season (March), which can be attributed to the inexperience of the guides. Our ferry showed up to locations well after other groups had already seen the whales.
