• In the morning, head to Shandan Military Horse Farm. Located in Zhangye, Gansu, between the Qilian Mountains and Yanzhi Mountains, on the Damaying Grassland, Shandan Military Horse Farm is the oldest and largest royal stud farm in the world. Here, you can get up close to ten thousand galloping horses, with opportunities to see herds of magnificent horses galloping and drinking water on the grassland and by the lake. You can also experience horseback riding and feel the legacy of this thousand-year-old horse farm.
• In the afternoon, explore Mati Temple Grottoes. It integrates grotto art, Qilian Mountain scenery, and Yugu ethnic customs, making it an unmissable grotto treasure in the Hexi Corridor, alongside Mogao Grottoes and Yulin Grottoes.
