Alishan National Forest Recreation Area
"Spring for flower viewing, summer for escaping the heat, autumn for maple viewing, and winter for cloud watching" perfectly describes the ever-changing Alishan National Forest Recreation Area throughout the four seasons. It is also an international tourist attraction representing Taiwan's cloud forest belt, welcoming travelers from all over the world to learn about the rich and beautiful face of Taiwan's mountains and forests.
Alishan Forest Railway
Riding the historic forest railway is one of the activities that visitors should not miss. The train travels along the mountain ridge, and the scenery outside the window is spectacular and charming. Among them, "Zhaoping Station" is a popular stop where you can easily stroll and admire the magnificent appearance of the Xianglin Sacred Tree.
Alishan Electric Tour Bus
The first national forest recreation area in Taiwan to use electric tour buses aims to reduce carbon emissions and realize the dream of a "low-carbon home in Taiwan." The Alishan electric tour bus route is close to many important attractions in the Alishan Forest Recreation Area, such as the literary Zhaoping area, the Shuishan Secret Realm recommended by experts, and the Xianglin area, which is the starting point for the pilgrimage to the sacred (giant) tree group. There is also a route to "Zhushan Station," the most popular sunrise viewing spot.
Zhaoping Line (Blue Line)
There are two boarding locations: the waiting station and the visitor center station bus stop. The stop is in front of Zhaoping Park. Visitors can get off at Zhaoping Station and walk around the park to see Sister Ponds and other attractions. The cherry trees along the line are also the most popular photo spots during the cherry blossom season.
- Departure interval: Visitor Center Station → Zhaoping Station: Approximately 2.2 kilometers, travel time including passenger boarding and alighting is approximately 10 minutes.
- Departure time: 08:00-17:00 No fixed schedule, each station is arranged flexibly according to the on-site passenger conditions; if you have any questions about the ride on site, you can ask the service staff at each station.

Xianglin Line (Red Line)
There are two boarding locations: the waiting station and the visitor center station bus stop. The stop is next to the Shouzhen Temple. Visitors can get off at Xianglin Station and walk around the Giant Tree Group Trail and other attractions.
- Departure interval: Visitor Center Station → Xianglin Station: Approximately 1.8 kilometers, travel time including passenger boarding and alighting is approximately 8 minutes.
- Departure time: 08:00-17:00 No fixed schedule, each station is arranged flexibly according to the on-site passenger conditions; if you have any questions about the ride on site, you can ask the service staff at each station.

Zhushan Line (Yellow Line)
The boarding locations are the waiting station, the visitor center station, and Zhaoping Station. The stop is Duigaoyue Station, and get off at Zhushan Station. Visitors who want to take the return Zhushan Line please take the bus according to the timetable. Zhushan Station is an important sunrise viewing spot in the Alishan National Forest Recreation Area. Even if it is not sunrise time, you may have the opportunity to enjoy the sea of clouds from the viewing platform. Going up from Zhushan Station will take you to Xiaoligasawara Observation Deck, which is a 360-degree panoramic viewing platform.
- Departure interval: Visitor Center Station → Zhushan Station: Approximately 5.5 kilometers, travel time including passenger boarding and alighting is approximately 35 minutes.

Reviews summarythe park is so huge that you need to spend at least a whole day to visit the famous attaction sites. you can ride a bus to get to the entrance of the trail and then spend 3 hours to walk inside the forest all the way to the train station. then you can ride the famous train to bring you back to the main center of the park.
price: Almost the same price if you’ll buy onsite. However, you don’t have to leave the car because it’ll be scanned at the entrance. And, has a freebie - for me, I availed the sunrise pastry which cam be redeemed outside/downstairs of Alishan Station. Just find “Alishan Pastry”. experience: Please be aware that going to Alishan is a 2 to 3-hour car/bus ride on a zigzag road, per way, from Chiayi! We did Alishan-Zhaoping route that costs $100/ride. IT WOULD BE THE BEST TO STAY OVERNIGHT OR MORE 🥰 I love the weather and thanks God it didn’t rain when we arrived.
We enjoyed our trip very much with great service rendered by our guide, Mr 陈吉宏. He was very proficient in his knowledge of the place and he took good care of 7 of us in his group. He also helped us to take great photos and brought us to places for good buys and nice foods to try. We were very happy with his service and would recommend this trip to everyone who has yet to visit Alishan park. The price for the package was reasonable and it was hassle free to book the tour from Klook. Highly recommended this trip!! 👍👍
This tour exceeded our expectations, mainly thanks to our guide 李明堂（阿汤哥） (vehicle no: RBV-5868). He was extremely experienced, patient, and thoughtful. His detailed explanations made the trip more meaningful, and he also helped us take many memorable photos. The itinerary was well arranged and covered the key highlights of Alishan. Despite a tight schedule, we still enjoyed every stop. The natural scenery was stunning, and the forest train was very special. Highly recommended!
This tour really is worth the time, effort and money! Such a serene and memorable experience. I was in awe of Alishan's beauty. Our driver and guide Ajun was the best and an awesome photographer too! My best friend and I had a blast!

小新, is a nice, talented, experience, helpful and joyous guide. His knowlegde and details explaination, regarding the whole trip, was excellent. He can get along with the whole group very well and is able to put the whole group at ease during the trip. Had a wonderful trip with him as our guide. He comes highly recommended.
I compared a few packages, and this travel package was the most suitable. After all, it includes private car hotel pick-up and drop-off service. Some Klook packages require you to take the train/high-speed rail to the meeting point yourself. I stayed in Taichung for five days and four nights, but only had three activity days after excluding the arrival and departure days. One day was free, and I booked day tour packages for the other two days. Coincidentally, both day tour packages were from them. I booked their Sun Moon Lake and Alishan tours. The driver, Stanley Yang, arrived on time downstairs at the hotel. The service was excellent. What impressed me the most was that when we arrived at the Sun Moon Lake market, Stanley would specifically take you to the recommended must-try food stalls and introduce them. Importantly, there was no forced consumption. On the return trip, we took another driver, Xiao Jun's car. Xiao Jun was sincere and friendly and recommended some highly-rated teppanyaki restaurants to us. Dapu Teppanyaki was indeed very good. The next day, the driver, Sunny Aga, greeted us on time. Aga was eloquent, humorous, and witty. In the Alishan forest, he shared some photography tips. Very good. Overall, the experience was good. Their cars are all Mercedes Vito Tourer 7-seater MPVs, which are quite comfortable!
The tour was not dissapointed. Our guide Terence was amazing and friendly, He taking many photos for us with good angle. He also a very good drive since the way to Alisan was winding. The itinerary was good covering all the highlights but definitely need more time to explore all. What truly stood out was the guide’s attention to detail, ensuring everyone felt included and informed without ever feeling rushed. If you’re looking to immerse yourself in Alisan’s natural beauty and cultural charm in just one day, this tour is *worth every penny*. Highly recommend to first timer and nature lovers.
easy and fuss free to redeem! this would have cost 300ntd / person so managed to save a little, also we got to redeem free snacks at the end! the park itself was gorgeous and we thoroughly enjoyed walking around here :)
