Hiroshima World Heritage - Atomic Bomb Dome + Itsukushima Shrine

This is a content-dense day trip, but it's not tiring.

In the morning, we were in Hiroshima city. The Atomic Bomb Dome stands quietly along the riverbank, surrounded by parks, pedestrians, and daily life, which is impactful in itself; the Peace Memorial Museum provided ample time to see the entire exhibition, not just a “check-in and pass by” visit, but a step-by-step understanding of the city’s memory and attitude. After noon, the itinerary became lighter. Taking a ferry to Miyajima, a short boat ride, the city skyline slowly receded, and the sea, islands, and shrines gradually came into view, giving a strong sense of “changing scenes.” After arriving on the island, there was plenty of time for Itsukushima Shrine. The vermilion shrine is built on the sea, presenting completely different scenes with the changing tides: quiet and restrained at high tide, and allowing close observation of details at low tide, with many photo opportunities, so there’s no need to rush.

This day went from city and culture to island and scenery, with solid content and a clear rhythm, ending just right, without feeling dragged along by the itinerary.
