Hadrian villa is a little difficult to get to by public transport. The place is huge and a good pair of shoes is needed. The fountain area is really beautiful and there are lots of steps to climb to different sections in the villa. Villa D'Este is very pretty ... the fountains and sprouts are the highlights. It is really cooling and there are many good photo taking spots in the villa. You can see the town from the top of the villa and it is great to sit back and relax around the fountains.
The site was quite hard to get to, especially in winter when the daylight hours are shorter. It's better to go in summer so that you can have more time to explore.
Would definitely recommend this over the guided tour one! The place is huge and it’s nice to stroll at your own pace so you can soak everything up and relax instead of being rushed. Redemption was smooth and experience was great! :)
