Reviews
I signed up for the "Peranakan Tile & Shophouse Painting Workshop" using my SG Culture Pass. I was expecting just a painting workshop but was treated to so much more! Baba Clarence was our guide for the afternoon and also happens to be the owner of the museum. This Singapore Peranakan Mansion Musuem is privately owned and contains artefacts from Baba Clarence's personal collection as well as those donated by others. Over the course of the 4 hour session, we experienced the following: a short presentation on the history of Peranakan people, culture and architecture with a focus on Chinese Peranakans, tile painting, we got the chance to dress up in Peranakan kebayas, shophouse painting and then a tour of the museum. I thoroughly enjoyed myself! I would recommend this workshop for locals as well as to friends visiting from abroad.
