[胜尾寺] 胜尾寺, also known as “Temple of Winning Luck” and “Katsuo-ji Temple of Winning Fortune Daruma”, is one of the most historically significant temples in the Kansai region. It is famous for praying for victory and good luck, and is known as a temple that has achieved success in all aspects of life such as exams, disaster prevention, medical treatment, sports, and career. Visitors can buy blank Daruma dolls, make a wish and draw the right eye for it, and then bring it back to draw the left eye after the wish is fulfilled.

[爱宕念佛寺] The regular closing days on Wednesdays and Saturdays are changed to Jojakko-ji Temple In Adashino Nenbutsu-ji Temple, 1,200 stone statues of Rakan stand quietly. These stone statues have rich expressions and different styles, some holding cats, some smiling, each one is unique. In addition, there is also a statue of Kannon Bodhisattva that can be touched, a statue of Jizo Bodhisattva that is said to eliminate fire hazards and protect longevity, and the “Sanbo Bonsho” that represents different Buddhist meanings.

[常寂光寺] Jojakko-ji Temple, also known as “Mt. Ogura”, is famous for its Tahoto Pagoda and beautiful autumn leaves. The Tahoto Pagoda was built in 1620 and has been designated as an important cultural property of Japan. There are more than 200 maple trees in the temple. In autumn, the mountains are full of red leaves, which complement the ancient pagoda and stone steps. The scenery is beautiful and it is one of the best places to see autumn leaves in Kyoto.

[Arashiyama] After finishing the trip to Adashino Nenbutsu-ji Temple, you can take a car to the vicinity of Togetsukyo Bridge in Arashiyama, or you can walk to Togetsukyo Bridge. The following are some recommended places to visit in the order of attraction locations. It takes about 1 hour to walk to Togetsukyo Bridge. You can freely choose 2-4 of these attractions to visit.

  • Saga Torii-moto: Stroll through the traditional machiya streets, have a cup of matcha, and find a small antique to feel the charm of old Kyoto
  • Mikami Shrine: Make a wish for your hair and get cute hairpin souvenirs

Review for: Atago Nenbutsu-ji Temple Day Trip

I was very lucky to see snow at Katsuo-ji Temple this time. The time spent at the three attractions throughout the trip was good and not too rushed. The biggest advantage of participating in Klook is that it solves the transportation problem, and you can take a good rest on the bus. The only downside is that the front and rear seats were a little small. Finally, I would like to thank Xiao Qin for taking us from the parking lot to the entrance, and for kindly reminding us that the meeting time was approaching before the meeting time.

Review for: Atago Nenbutsu-ji Temple Day Trip

Since our original trip to Tenryu-ji Temple was canceled due to insufficient participants, the travel agency thoughtfully arranged an alternative itinerary to Kifune Shrine, Arashiyama, and Sanzen-in Temple. Our guide and driver, Yasuo, was kind and friendly. He introduced the attractions and provided helpful tips for making the most of our time at each site. He also made an effort to park the tour vehicle as close as possible to the attractions for our convenience when getting on and off. On the return journey, he even dropped me off at my hotel. This was a relaxed and comfortable trip. Thank you, Yasuo!

Review for: Atago Nenbutsu-ji Temple Day Trip

Excellent trip and one of the most efficient way to cover a lot of ground in a day. Our driver Kangfu was a kind gentleman and was punctual on every stop. We got a brief introduction to the temples and places we were about to visit. Katsuoji temple and Atago Nenbutsuji temples were really pretty. My only feedback would be a longer stop at Atago Nenbutsuji, to explore the village around. It was really beautiful.
