Hakuba Iwatake Ski Resort
Hakuba Iwatake is the only independent peak in Hakuba Village (1,289 meters above sea level). Because the summit area cannot be seen directly from the gondola base station or National Route 148, it is often mistaken for a "small ski resort." However, first-time visitors are often amazed by the magnificent scenery of the summit area and the 360° panoramic view of the Northern Alps, and are deeply fascinated by it. I participated in a Klook skiing activity this time, originally hoping for a relaxing and enjoyable skiing experience, but after actually arriving on site, the overall feeling was quite disappointing. The activity package originally included ski equipment rental, but upon arriving at the rental location, the staff immediately asked us if we wanted to "upgrade" our clothing, ski boots, and snowboard, and clearly stated that if we didn't pay extra to upgrade, we could only use the equipment included in the original package. Then, they added that most of the original equipment was about five years old. The problem wasn't just about whether or not to upgrade, but the entire sales process felt very uncomfortable. Almost every item required extra money, giving the feeling that "If you don't pay extra, you can only use very old, very bad equipment." The staff even personally took us to a small hut next door to show us the ski clothing that was over five years old. The lighting was dim and almost no lights were on, creating an atmosphere that felt like they were deliberately creating a sense of pressure, "Are you sure you want to rent these?" This approach felt very unprofessional and lacked basic respect. Upgrading should be a choice, not a way to force consumers to pay more by demeaning the original package content. Overall, the rental experience for this skiing activity was very unpleasant and greatly affected my trust and expectations of Klook's package activities. I hope the platform can address the on-site service quality of its partner vendors to prevent other consumers from having similar negative experiences. ★After meeting and checking in, the staff will issue you a bus ticket and lift ticket exchange coupon related to the itinerary. Please confirm that the contents are correct before departure and keep them safe. If you have any questions, please contact the operator. ★Depending on the number of applicants, buses from other travel agencies that provide ski services may be used. If this happens, the parking location and time for the outbound and return trips will be adjusted. You will be notified by email from one week to the day before departure, please be aware. ・When meeting in Tokyo, the bus will depart on time, so please be sure to arrive at the meeting point in advance and do not be late. ・For all ski bus trips, the outbound and return buses are different. Please take all your belongings with you when you get off the bus and do not leave anything on the bus. ・After the bus arrives at Hakuba Iwatake Ski Resort, please check your valuables before getting off the bus. ・If you need to rent ski equipment, you can rent it at the rental shop in the ski resort (cannot be reserved). ・Ski equipment cannot be exchanged once rented, and you will need to pay again to rent it after returning it, please be aware. ・Afterwards, you can go to Hakuba Iwatake Ski Resort and enjoy skiing.
