What to expect

Embark on a one-day autumn scenery feast starting from Nagoya! First stop is Kokeizan Eihoji Temple, where you'll encounter 700-year-old golden ginkgo trees and stunning red maples, with the ancient temple and autumn leaves complementing each other beautifully. Next, head to the Obara Shikizakura Festival to witness the rare spectacle of approximately ten thousand cherry trees blooming alongside autumn leaves. Finally, arrive at Korankei Gorge, where over 4,000 maple trees dye the valley red, and the stream's reflection is like a painting. Enjoy three major autumn scenic spots in one day, a perfect blend of nature and culture, making it an excellent choice for families, couples, or solo travelers.

Korankei Gorge is a famous autumn foliage viewing spot in Asuke-cho, Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Over 4,000 maple trees, including 11 different species of autumn leaves, are planted here. In autumn, the mountains are covered with a tapestry of red and yellow maples, painting the entire hillside like a poem. The surface of the Tomoe River is also dyed fiery red, beautiful as a brocade autumn scroll.

Kokeizan Eihoji Temple is located in Kokeizan-cho, Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The temple grounds boast a large ginkgo tree over 700 years old and exquisite red maples. The red maples and the large ginkgo in front of the main hall echo each other, with golden and fiery red intertwining, creating a riot of colors that adorns the autumn sky. At the same time, the autumn leaves, the temple’s pond-strolling garden, and ancient architecture complement each other. The clear pond water reflects the graceful figures of the red leaves and ginkgo, and the antique buildings appear even more rustic and elegant against the backdrop of the red leaves, forming a unique scenic charm.

Obara Shikizakura At the Obara Shikizakura Festival, approximately ten thousand Shikizakura (four-season cherry trees) bloom, their pink petals dancing in the wind, intertwining with the mountains full of red leaves. It’s a dreamlike and ethereal scene, as if stepping into a fairy tale world, a breathtaking visual impact that is unforgettable for a lifetime.

We joined the Eihoji Temple, Obara Shikizakura, and Korankei tour and overall had a wonderful experience. The bus was completely full but departed on time. I recommend arriving early if you want to secure good seats. Traffic was quite heavy, probably because it was festival season, and all the locations were packed, especially Korankei. The time spent at each destination felt a bit short, but it couldn’t be helped given the crowds and traffic. Despite that, the scenery made everything worth it. The autumn colors and the unique shikizakura were absolutely beautiful, and the weather was perfect for exploring. A great experience this autumn season!

recommend this tour, everything perfectly. The first place to go is a very beautiful temple, the second place is Shiki Sakura is very beautiful, and the last place is Koranke is The Bass, beautiful to see from the evening to the light-up, which is really beautiful. The day we went to the weather, the sun was good, the guide was good, she spoke three languages, and she was really good at explaining all three languages and she managed time and everything.

Highly enjoyed this particular trip as all three destinations were absolutely beautiful. The fall foliage added a wonderful backdrop to a stunning Japanese style Buddhist temple, the ‘four colors’ forest area and ending at an incomparable Japanese maple forest that they lit up with orange lights after dark. The bus was comfy and the drives weren’t too long, the tour guide was efficient and succinct, and the driver was safe yet assertive to not waste our time. Would highly recommend this tour top to bottom. other than the last stop it wasn’t too crowded (Saturday on a holiday weekend so that was to be expected) The food options at the last stop were also delicious and on the cheap side.

Both Ito San & Amy were beautiful people. They were so patient with us when my hubby got lost at the wrong exit of Eihoji Temple without me. We were extremely appreciative of Amy who put so much effort to help me to locate my 81yo husband. On the same day I learned to set up my phone to location live, as she wanted to keep track of us all the time. Not only was she concerned abt everyone's safety, she was also very experienced, informative & clear while guiding us. I believe our driver Ito San was v happy w her co-operation. Ito San was a quick thinking & experienced driver who ensured that we wld not suffer long traffic jam from the entrance & exit of Korankei due to the long weekend during the Autumn foliage. After bringing us to 3 beautiful places, we were return safely on time for dinner & unexpectedly to the same pickup point, Ministop. Thank you so much Ito San & Amy San. May God Bless both of you to have brighter future than ever.

Day well spent enjoying the view of autumn leaves. The tour company was very thoughtful. We, family of 8 (with elderly in wheelchair and toddler) got moved from the big group to a smaller van! We had a lovely driver (Xiao Li) who explained everything to us for each stop. Would definitely recommend this tour

Overall, I'm very satisfied: The tour guide will email the specific itinerary and her contact information one day in advance. For the three attractions of the day, the tour guide will introduce them in Chinese and English in advance, and then emphasize the departure time. All members were on time, I'm grateful! The itinerary is very reasonable. In the end, we can stay at Korankei for 3 and a half hours (although we don’t actually need to visit for that long, everyone gathered early to return).

it’s a very well planned and coordinated trip but I think our timing was a bit late in the season as the Ishizakura were all gray and the foliage was not so great anymore too. I wished they just stopped the tour altogether than driving us the way there to see dried branches. it would have been magnificent if the timing was right. Nancy tried her best to share knowledge and was very reliable.

Overall, it was a very good trip. I enjoyed it, especially because of the autumn season and the great weather. The route was well-planned, and the guide provided very clear instructions. This is a good one-day trip, and you can enjoy the night view of the autumn leaves. The guide could have been more helpful by sharing more content about the places we visited. Nevertheless, the guide was very clear about meeting instructions, including where and when to meet. The Google Maps address provided in the instructions was incorrect, which was quite confusing. Despite this, it was a good trip.

Good to know

If the trip goes smoothly, we expect to arrive at Xianglan Creek at 15:00 and allow 3.5 hours of stay to ensure you have enough time to enjoy the night view, and officially return at 18:30. If there is a traffic jam, we may not arrive before 15:30, and the stay time will be adjusted to 2 hours; another situation is that if it is predicted that there will be congestion on the return trip, we will start the return trip in advance, but we will still ensure at least 2 hours of stay time. Therefore, the actual stay time at Xianglan Creek is about 120 to 210 minutes, depending on the traffic conditions of the day.
