[Winter Limited] Two-Day Tour of Northeast China | Ginzan Onsen + Zao Snow Monsters + Fox Village / Ouchi-juku (Including Onsen Hotel and Breakfast & Dinner) Departure from Tokyo

This trip was led by tour guide Mr. Hanamichi Sakuragi, who provided careful explanations in Japanese, English, and Chinese throughout, so you don't have to worry about language communication issues during the trip. On the first day, we were very lucky to encounter snow at Ginzan Onsen, and the scenery of the old street covered in snow was particularly charming. The Kameyama Ryokan, where we stayed in the evening, was comfortable, and dinner was a hearty Japanese set meal with a variety of exquisite dishes. The rooms have tatami mats and offer separate public hot springs for men and women on two floors. Enjoying the hot springs in the cold weather was particularly relaxing and pleasant. On the second day, the weather cleared up, and the sunshine made the whole trip more comfortable and warmer. We went to the limited-time Zao Snow Monsters. When taking the Zao Ropeway (2 sections), the waiting time was long, and we waited about two and a half hours before successfully boarding (I don't know if it's possible to make a reservation in advance). Anyway, we were very lucky to see the snow monsters in good weather, which was very worthwhile. However, since it took a lot of time to climb to the top to see the snow monsters, the return trip took about 5 hours, and we were ultimately unable to go to Zao Fox Village (the reservation time could not be accommodated, but the travel agency paid for the second section of the ropeway tickets as compensation), which was a bit of a pity. However, I am still very grateful to the driver for his hard work and flexible cooperation, and to the travel agency for their assistance with the itinerary, which made the whole trip leave beautiful memories. In addition, the weather in Tohoku, Japan is really cold, so it is important to keep warm.

I was worried 😕 about heavy snow, not being able to see Ginzan Onsen and Zao, but I'm so happy that the 2-day, 1-night trip had great weather, and I saw everything! The romantic snowy Ginzan Onsen, the magnificent Zao snow mountain, and the adorable foxes have become a golden memory, so happy 🥰🥰🥰. Very satisfied with the tour guide's arrangements ❤️❤️❤️.

This is my fourth time participating in a Klook overseas tour, and I'm very fortunate that the guides have always been responsible and patient in answering and explaining our questions. This time, the guide for the Sakuragi Hanamichi tour made me feel very safe. Before departure, they made sure to confirm everyone's contact information and reminded us of things I hadn't even thought to prepare, which made me feel well-prepared for this trip. Before arriving at each attraction, they thoroughly explained the things to watch out for and the regulations. They always made sure everyone was on board before the bus departed, which made them a very responsible guide, allowing everyone to go out and return home safely! I hope every trip can be this enjoyable! And thank you to the guide!

Very long ride from Tokyo. 1st day - Departed from Shinjuku at 7am, then arrived in Ginzan at 2pm. Only 1 hour to walk around in Ginzan. Arrived at hotel around 4:30pm. Dinner at 6:30pm (delicious!). 2nd day, 7am breakfast, 8am depart to see zao snow monsters and arrived in village around 11am. Informed that we couldnt go to fox zoo due to strong snow which slowed our travel and time contraints. We also didn’t see any Snow monsters since we couldnt get tickets??). we rode a different ropeway for some sightseeing of skiiers/snowboarders. 1:30pm departed Zao snow village and arrived in Shinjuku around 830pm.

honestly, everything was great and it was a crazy fun experience. It’s all luck actually if the weather cooperates then you can go to all the planned spots. we were very lucky to go to all of them. the tour is spent mostly on the bus and each spot you go to you only have around 30 minutes to an hour or more. the trees in Zao were not fully covered with snow yet so we couldn’t exactly see the snow monsters. overall, a good experience to go and see at least once especially the fox village and Ginzan onsen. Our guide Dragon and the driver Nakamura-san were perfect and so friendly.

At the beginning my family and I were quite worried with this whole 2d1n tour but it turn up to be not that hectic and can consider a fruitful tour. everything was fine and just follow the itinerary that was given. Just that when we join with other tour members the timing sometimes will be off a bit. But still consider ok for us. I had a best night sleep due to the Onsen bath taken in the mentioned hotel. Dinner was perfect. worth the money paid. The bus to stop twice for toilet break if not mistaken before reaching the first destination. Not tiring. wonderful tour experience.

For a carefree trip away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo, and to experience the tranquility and different environment of the suburbs, signing up for an escorted tour is the best choice.

decent onsen hotel with 2 floors for your onsen experience, hotel however rather old fashioned. the view at the Ginzan Onsen village was very captivating with the snowfall. the view from top of zao mountain was awesome. 5 stars for the views. BUT to take a 5 hr bus ride to Ginzan Onsen to stay 20 mins to snap photos …. another 3 hr journey back to hotel…. next day queue 3 hrs to get into cable car to go to top of zao mountain n just to stay there 1 hour n then another 1 hr of queue to get down to base… is absolutely ridiculous! we didn’t even have time to visit the foxes. at the start of the tour, the guide mentioned that the fox village had poor reviews n not really worth visiting ….why do they even put it into the itinerary. well overall I will visit again but will choose to stay a few nights in the area as the bus ride was simply too long. very rushed.
