Reviews
Overall, a good experience. We enjoyed a wide variety of tastings, including two types of cheese (such as Parmigiana), wine, prosciutto, supplì, three types of roman pizza slices, and a seated pasta course with wine, finishing with gelato. Our guide, Karina, was friendly and shared interesting insights about the history of the food, as well as Roman culture and traditions. It would be even better if more details about the neighbourhood and key highlights of Trastevere could be included during the walk.
Trastevere food tour is a must when you are in Rome. Love everything about this tour starting with our fun & enthusiastic guide Smit. My favorites are the porchetta, amatriciana, pizza & gelato. The wine is also good. We also get to see a historic wine cellar of a restaurant. I highly recommend this tour.
I had a wonderful Roman food tour with Dani at Carpe Diem Tours! They have reserved a total of 5 restaurants with plenty of local authentic food and drinks for us to try! They even cater to the special vegetarian needs! Dani is funny and very easy going! I would highly recommend such food tour if you want to have an in-depth understanding of Roma!
Allie was awesome! absolutely an epicurean’s delight! I booked last minute and was able to join, she kept the tour interesting and fun and most of all filled with great food and laughter- highly recommend! I did on my first night and now know exactly how I’ll spend other Epicurious adventures whilst in Rome
Our guide, Dani, was super nice and amazing! It’s literally felt like we were being guided around cool spots by a close friend and I love that the most because I get awkward around people a lot lol. If you do get a chance to book a food Tour in Rome, best to do this and have a jumpstart on your Rome vacation! I still salivate when I think about that gelato we had from time to time ❤️🇮🇹
Guide Giovanna is good and is a fluent English speaker. She was able to guide us around the Trastevere area sampling local food such as 2 kinds of cheese, 1 wine, 1 porchetta, 1 suppli (standing outside the store), 3 kinds of pizza (sat down inside), 1 bruschetta appetizer, 1 kind of pasta with red & white wine (sat down inside) and of course Gelato! It was small portions but really filing!
The Trastevere food tour was an absolute delight, offering a perfect blend of authentic Roman cuisine and cultural immersion. We sampled a variety of local dishes, from freshly baked pastries to classic pasta alla carbonara, all of which were bursting with flavor. The gelato at the end was the cherry on top. Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate, sharing fascinating insights about the food and the neighborhood’s history. The tour was well-organized with a small group size, making it an intimate and enjoyable experience. Walking through the charming, cobblestone streets of Trastevere, added a magical touch. The tour was well worth the price, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking to experience the true taste of Rome.
I really enjoyed this tour! it was a great introduction to the area of Trastevere and we really did try all of the Roman street foods, which was really cool. We tried two types of cheese, some porchetta on top of bread (probably my fave thing), some red wine, three types of pizza al taglio with an Italian birra , suppli, we sat down for bruschetta and pasta amatriciana with water and wine and ended with two scoops of gelato. Our guide Adib was very knowledgeable and fun and he did an amazing job. Very enjoyable experience and I would absolutely take another tour with Carpe Diem again!
I absolutely loved this tour and our guide Sushi was amazing! I loved her energy and I would do another tour with her in a heartbeat. the food was delicious that we went back to the same area the next day to try something else. highly recommend if you have time to spare to do this food tour.
the tour is great covering signature street food, wine and ham, dinner in a very special restaurant follows by the genuine gelato. it’s impressive and our tour guide Aria is superb and very friendly.
