Reviews summaryUnforgettable experiences that everyone should try if the weather allows. We were lucky enough to reschedule after our original trip was cancelled due to bad weather. The staff, the pilot, and our guide Jimmy were all super helpful and professional, making the hike a truly pleasant memory for us. Thanks a mil!
an unforgettable experience in my lifetime! also has experienced helicopter and glacier walk at once! our tour guide very take good care of our group, the whole journey with spectacular scenes and really enjoy it!
At first I thought the price was very high, but I came to New Zealand with the mentality of not leaving any regrets. Unexpectedly, it was more fun than expected, from the first service to the detailed English explanation before the trip (the explanation also included Chinese instructions, which was very considerate) Pre-trip equipment is also provided in sufficient quantities: down jackets, windproof jackets, snow pants, a small number of fur hats, gloves, snow socks, snow shoes, and backpacks for heading to the snow. The helicopter experience is also worth it. The key point is that the team leader is very professional and considerate of everyone. The scenery is really beautiful. I am very lucky to have this trip. Although the wind was too strong at first and the trip might be canceled, I was lucky enough to have fun in the end!
awesome experience, since it is weather dependent, try to book it on your first day at mt cook. overall very great activity, to be able to set foot on a glacier! and the guide, Rich is very informative.
You need to check in 10-15 minutes early. Then you will be taken to a pre-trip briefing and then get dressed. Everyone must put on waterproof boots and crampons. In addition, there are also down jackets, waterproof jackets, gloves, thick wool socks and You can choose the size of your backpack and return it when you come back. The round-trip helicopter experience is super worthwhile. The driver will make sure everyone is wearing their seat belts and earmuffs correctly. You can view Mount Cook and the glaciers from different angles with peace of mind. There are family members who are afraid of heights, and there are also elderly people over 70 years old. , everyone had a great time riding it! Fiona, the guide during glacier hiking, is very professional and can explain the formation of glaciers and information about Tasman Glacier in simple English. In addition, she is very familiar with the routes of glaciers and the locations of various beautiful ice caves. She will especially choose simple routes for my grandma. Go, and when necessary, I will help and lead my grandmother to walk on the right path, so that my grandmother can experience the glacier with peace of mind. Thank you very much for the guide.
great experience and amazing view on the glacier, we hiked to an ice cave. The operator provides warm layers if needed. We felt very safe flying and hiking with them
I really recommend joining their tour! The pre-trip instructions at the beginning were very detailed. All the equipment was complete and clean, so you didn't have to bring anything with you. The helicopter seats and groups were carefully arranged (the seats for the outbound and return trips were swapped), and the helicopter was also very new. The on-site glacier tour guide was friendly and professional 👍, and took us to explore the ice cave. We were lucky that it was sunny that day, but the temperature was still very low. It would get hot after walking around. It is recommended that you bring sunglasses, the sunlight is very glaring and the ultraviolet intensity is off the charts, so be sure to apply sunscreen! I think this trip is worth it, the icebergs are magnificent and full of memories💯
good experience and easy to reach even 80year old grandpa can walk, the heli view is so good, we even change date earlier due to weather. But didn’t see huge ice wall.
Guide is very experienced glacier expert and explained on the glacier formation and changes over the year. The heli and glacier hike experience is definitely worth the price paid
The instructors are very patient and don't speak too fast, so even people with bad English can understand 🥹. They guide tourists step-by-step on the glacier, and there are always two staff members accompanying you, so you feel very safe. I highly recommend that everyone visiting Mount Cook include this trip in their itinerary! When you get on the helicopter, the staff will also check each seatbelt to make sure it is fastened tightly. If there's a next time, I think I'll bring my family to participate again!
