At "Sharinkan Kumamoto Airport Store" located inside Aso Kumamoto Airport, we rent the latest electric assist bicycles (e-bikes) from the world-renowned sports bike brand "Trek." Aso boasts one of Japan's leading natural landscapes, with one of the world's largest caldera terrains and beautiful grasslands. Moving by bicycle allows you to directly feel the scenery, sounds, and scents that you cannot experience in a car, allowing you to fully enjoy Aso with all five senses. In particular, tourists from overseas will be able to experience the nature and culture of Aso, which can be said to be the original landscape of Japan, more deeply.
Our store offers the following Trek e-bikes, catering to everyone from beginners to advanced riders:
- FX+ 2: A cross bike type with a lightweight aluminum frame and a 250W hub motor. It can travel up to 67 km on a single charge and comes standard with fenders, lights, and a rear carrier.
- Powerfly 4 Gen 4: A mountain bike type equipped with a high-performance Bosch motor and a 500Wh battery. It can handle a wide range of surfaces from paved roads to light unpaved roads, making long-distance riding comfortable.
- Marlin+ 6: Equipped with a Bosch Active Line Plus drive system, it provides a comfortable ride with front suspension.
Recommended cycling courses include heading towards Nishihara Village from the airport, Shiraito Falls with a width of about 20 meters and a height of about 80 meters, Tawarayama Pass Observatory where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the magnificent Aso Gogaku (Five Peaks of Aso) and vast grasslands, and Moe-no-Sato where you can enjoy sweets made from local specialty sweet potatoes. At these spots, you can fully enjoy the natural beauty of Aso and the local culture.
