Taipei Half-Day Private Jiufen & Cat Village Tour

My sisters and I are so glad we did this private tour! Our tour guide was Henry. He came earlier than the scheduled time and we had a chance to eat breakfast at a spot he recommended before we started the tour. We went to Shifen waterfall, released a lantern at Shifen, took a pit stop at Keelung market for lunch, visited Houtong cat village, then ended the tour at Jiufen. The original tour comes with a ride back to your accommodations but we wanted to spend more time at Jiufen, so Henry helped us by giving us directions on how to get back. Henry was a very knowledgeable tour guide and told us facts about Taiwan we would have otherwise not known about if we had planned the trip ourselves. He helped us take photos and was very prepared for Taiwan’s rain and humidity. He gave us a bunch of recommendations which we really appreciate! I would 100% recommend this private tour. It felt like traveling with a friend and was a highlight of our Taiwan trip! (=

I highly recommend this. I don't know what I would have done without it... I came on a trip with my younger sister, and the driver and guide tailored everything to us and explained it well. Thank you so much, Nicolas. I go to the bathroom often and take forever to take pictures, but he told us the best photo spots and guided us by understanding our needs. It rained, but he prepared a large umbrella, told us about souvenir shops, and guided us to great restaurants, making it the best trip ever. He speaks English well and explains everything in detail, which was a great help in understanding Taiwan. I highly recommend a private tour over a bus tour. Thank you so much!!

Driver Kobayashi's attentive and flexible service made me feel even more connected to Taiwan. The driver notifies us 15 minutes before arriving at the pick-up location, this thoughtful gesture really impressed us. Kobayashi is considerate of tourists' feelings, this ensures he won't disrupt their itinerary when traveling in Taiwan. During the journey between Shifen and Jiufen, he also helped us take very nice photos. Moreover, considering various traffic conditions, he helped us arrange the order of visiting all the attractions. On the return trip, Kobayashi's extensive driving experience allowed him to find a faster and smoother route to take us back to the hotel during peak hours. On the day of the Shifen and Jiufen tour, Kobayashi made our entire trip very fulfilling. Grateful. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Thanks to the gentle driver Caleb, I was able to successfully complete my first overseas 효도 (filial piety) tour with my mom! Other bus tours are good too, but I wanted a private trip, so I chose a taxi tour ㅎㅎ. He drove comfortably and gave us plenty of time at each tour location, so there was no problem sightseeing! He speaks English fluently, so there were no communication problems ㅎㅎ. I asked him to drop us off at the night market instead of the hotel, and he agreed~ This may vary depending on the guide, but I think you can adjust the itinerary and let them know! Thanks to him, I was able to buy delicious pineapple cakes and nougat crackers cheaply ㅎㅎ. Thank you, Caleb :)

We had a smooth and comfortable journey to all the places with Alex. He told us what we needed to know and was well informed and knowledgeable about the areas. Highly recommend to take this for comfort. Personally did not like Jiufen as it was too crowded.

Thank you Vincent for giving us a tour we will forever remember! The schedule was perfect giving us just enough time to see each place. He took us in and out of each area so we wouldn’t get lost especially through Jiufen. He was very accommodating to our young son which made the trip even more enjoyable. We ended the tour with dinner reservations at a tea house with a beautiful view. Vincent even took pictures of our family and became our personal photographer! Highly reccomend booking this tour!

I highly, HIGHLY recommend this tourguide (Bubble is his name!) and this tour. Bubble was AMAZING, his car was clean and comfortable, and not only that but he himself was very accommodating. He introduced each place with enthusiasm and most importantly, showed us where bathrooms were at every location. He even gave free bottles of water just in case. Bubble gave us detailed maps and annotated them himself too, helping us understand each place well. Best tour guide EVER, would 100% pick him again if I come back to Taiwan. Be sure to go on this tour if you want your trip to be memorable!

We had a lovely private tour led by our guide Vincent. He messaged the evening before with plenty of information / pictures of himself, including reconfirming the pick up venue / time; arrived early and waited patiently; was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. One thing to note is that the tour isn’t really stroller friendly but Vincent helped my husband to carry our kid + stroller at the sights so that was very helpful and much appreciated. I saw other reviews mentioning how they were asked to pay more on the spot as the tour ended “late” so I was slightly worried as we only reached back to our hotel at 5+/6pm when the tour is supposed to end at 4pm (traffic was bad, and Vincent accommodated a short nap in the carpark for the kids). But no such thing for us! Very pleasant experience.

Amazing experience!! Our guide, Jack, was amazing!! He was on time, knowledgeable, and very considerate of our time and with our daughter, 6yo. We originally booked a group tour, when that was unexpectedly canceled we made the decision to do the private tour. TOTALLY WORTH IT!! I highly recommend all look into this option if it works with your plans! Jack knew the area, knew the best spots for photos, and he even too group shots and provided them to us afterwards!
