Reviews summaryCici was a great guide, she was fluent in 3 languages, she gave us freedom to follow her around or to explore by ourselves. Felt a bit rushed in gujo hachiman, but the rest felt we had much much spare time to explore. Going with a tour like these is way cheaper than going by yourself.
the meeting place was easy to find, google maps was just confused due to the city’s underground walkways. our guide was very clever, she sounded like an A.I on how she can speak straight English, Japanese and Chinese everytime she explains something.
This was the highlight of our trip! The scenery in Shirakawa-go is like a postcard come to life. Our guide(Wang) was wonderful—very accommodating and went out of his way to help us with questions and photos. He even provided must try food and places to see. Everything was well-organized from start to finish. Don't miss this if you're in Japan!
It was excellent, everything was great. We went on a tour with guide Wangjie. This tour allowed us to visit all three locations in one day. The time management was very good. Although we couldn't spend much time strolling around and enjoying the atmosphere, it was definitely worth it to visit all three places in a single day.
if you prefer to explore with minimal guide and discover the places on your own, I highly recommend this. Moe, our tour guide provided highlights on how to explore around (what to eat, must see, etc) and gave us the freedom to explore the way we prefer it. A lot of places to see so can be fast paced but I think this is the best way to maximize if you have limited time. will definitely be back and stay around Gifu area. This tour already provided a great experience that's one for the books.
Really worth it trip. It’s the highlight of my 2026 Japan trip. Shirakawago in winter is magical like straight from a story book or snow globe. Meet up point is easy to get to as it’s just in front of Nagoya Station. I was even from Kyoto and found the meeting place easily despite the ongoing construction of the landmark. One suggestion though is to shorten the time in Takayama and add it to Shirakawago as 1.5hrs isn’t enough to explore the area. The guide is also very kind. Kudos to Anny-san, she is very professional and considerate. Over-all really recommend tour!
Incredible value - how else would you see Gujo Hachiman, Takayama and Shirakawa-go in one day? Even though the trip was a whole day it didn't feel long at all and everything went really smooth. Thank you very much, Helen, for your effort!
I get the hype about Shirakawago it was really a heritage site but I just hated the crowed. Too many people so taking pictures was a struggle. But aside from that all the places we went were great and I didn't expect that the kiyosu castle will be the one that I liked the best.
This tour is so worth it! I went last year and tried to diy but I failed. I made sure that this year will be the year to visit Shirakawago and it did not disappoint. Altho the place was not fully covered by snow as they have already melted but the vibe is still there. The guide Helen was very informative and approachable. She recommended places to eat and where to go. The trip was comfortable and there was ample time to explore the areas. Will definitely recommend to friends and family. Will also visit again during different seasons.
today’s weather is very great. and thanks to our tour guide Mr. Wang jie! give us a lot of information what to do and what to eat. also explaining to us about the history of the place, 会说普通话,英语和日语, 很棒! every explanation is very clear and easy to understand. till next time!
