Begin your day with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in Beijing. Sit back and relax in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. During the drive, our guide will share fascinating background information about the Longqing Gorge and the Ming Tombs.

Upon arrival, you’ll first walk the Sacred Way.The"spiritual avenue"that leads to the imperial tombs, a must-see for understanding Ming royal etiquette. Stretching over 7 kilometers, this ancient path lined with 36 stone statues. Each statue has a purpose

Stop at a local restaurant for a delicious Chinese countryside style lunch. Then heading directly to Dingling at the Ming Tombs.

Afterward, you’ll choose one of two iconic imperial tombs to explore (tailored to your interests): Dingling Tomb: The only fully excavated underground palace of the Ming Tombs, housing Emperor Wanli and his two empresses.

After the Dingling visit, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing.

Descend 27 meters into the underground chambers to see the original layout of the burial site — including the "Soul Tower" above ground and the three connected halls below, where royal artifacts once accompanied the emperor in the afterlife.

Changling Tomb: The largest and best-preserved tomb of the 13 Ming emperors. Its highlight is the Hall of Eminent Favor — a grand wooden structure supported by 60 massive nanmu wood pillars (a rare material once reserved for imperial buildings).

Explore the temples and island with your tour guide and spend about 2 hours inside the Long Qing Gorge

Enjoy a local-style lunch at a nearby restaurant. Move on to the Longqing Gorge. In Summer, you’ll take the famous Dragon-Shaped Elevator, offering sweeping views of the gorge’s steep cliffs and winding river as you ascend.

Next, embark on a boat ride along the serene waters of the gorge, where you can marvel at the unique rock formations on either side. Some of these formations resemble animals and mythical creatures, sculpted over millions of years by natural erosion.

For winter travelers, the tour departs your hotel around 12:00 PM (to save time for the night’s highlight). After exploring the Ming Tombs and having lunch, you’ll head to Longqing Gorge for the Ice Lantern Festival — a beloved winter tradition.

As night falls, the gorge transforms into a glowing wonderland: massive ice sculptures&miniatures of Beijing landmarks are lit up by colorful LED lights. You can walk through the ice gardens and take photos. Tour end with downtown hotel drop off.
