What to expect
【Lake Toya Fireworks Festival】 On summer weekend evenings, Lake Toya hosts a fireworks festival where you can see the blooming fireworks reflected on the lake surface. The Lake Toya Fireworks Festival is held from late April until October.

【Showa Shinzan and Bear Ranch】 The bear ranch, located near the entrance to the Showa Shinzan Ropeway, is home to over 100 purebred Hokkaido brown bears. Brown bears are the largest wild mammals in Hokkaido.

【Lake Shikotsu】 The charm of Lake Shikotsu lies in its “Shikotsu Blue” waters, a shimmering blue surface that attracts countless visitors. This blue color is produced by the clear water under the sunlight, and its water quality is renowned as one of the best in Japan.

【Lake Toya Lakeside】 Lake Toya is approximately 11 kilometers long from east to west, 9 kilometers wide from north to south, with a circumference of 50 kilometers. Its surface elevation is 84 meters, and its average depth is 117.0 meters, with clear water. The lake does not freeze in winter, making it the northernmost non-freezing lake in Japan, with clear waters flowing throughout the year.

Traveling in Japan on your own can be incredibly expensive, not to mention the travel time. Booking a Klook tour is definitely the most convenient option! Our guide, David, sent reminders beforehand and kept us entertained throughout the trip with his humorous and insightful commentary on the sights and their history. The other members of the group were punctual, well-behaved, and cooperative. Today's itinerary included Lake Shikotsu, Showa Shinzan/Bear Park, Lake Hill Farm (for milk ice cream!), the Lake Toya observation deck, and the highlight: the Lake Toya Autumn Fireworks Show. Before the fireworks, David pointed out nearby dining options and a foot-soaking onsen, among other facilities. He also helped us find the best photo angles at each location and took pictures for us. I was extremely satisfied with this tour, and it made me love Hokkaido! I definitely want to come back and highly recommend this excellent tour group! 😊
Our experience on the “Hokkaido Lake Toya Fireworks Festival, Lake Shikotsu, Bear Park & Observation Deck Day Tour (with Cruise)” was fantastic. The itinerary was rich and fulfilling, allowing us to see several famous Hokkaido attractions in one day, making it highly recommended. First, we visited Lake Shikotsu, where the water was crystal clear and surrounded by mountains. The boat cruise offered a particularly pleasant way to admire the lake scenery, allowing us to fully appreciate the tranquility and beauty of nature. Next, we headed to the Bear Park, where we observed adorable brown bears up close and even had the chance to feed them. It’s an attraction that both adults and children will love. Afterward, we ascended to the observation deck, taking in the magnificent lake and mountain views. The expansive vista was perfect for taking memorable photos. The transportation throughout the tour was smooth, with comfortable and clean vehicles. Our guide, Eric Kinjo, was knowledgeable and friendly, not only introducing the features of each attraction but also sharing much about Hokkaido's history and culture, which enriched the journey even further. The most anticipated event of the evening, the Lake Toya Fireworks Festival, was spectacular. The dazzling fireworks bloomed over the lake, reflecting on the calm water, creating a dreamy and romantic scene that left a deep impression. Overall, this was a high-quality day tour combining natural beauty, unique attractions, and a wonderful fireworks display. The timing was just right, offering great value for money, and is highly recommended for first-time visitors to Hokkaido or those looking for a relaxing trip.
Participating in the "Lake Toya Fireworks Festival & Lake Shikotsu & Bear Park Day Tour" was absolutely worth it! The entire day's itinerary was incredibly smooth, and the transportation was punctual and comfortable, offering exceptional value for money. I especially want to thank our tour guide, Chen Ling. Her explanations throughout the trip were professional and engaging, and she was very attentive to the needs of the group members. The biggest surprise was her special recommendation to experience the day-trip hot springs at "Lake Toya Manseikaku Hotel." The hot spring facilities at Manseikaku were truly fantastic! Soaking in the springs while enjoying the stunning views of Lake Toya instantly melted away all fatigue—it was truly the highlight of the trip. After the hot springs, watching the spectacular Lake Toya Fireworks Festival was the perfect end, leaving both my mind and body completely satisfied. I wholeheartedly recommend our guide, Chen Ling, for her professionalism and thoughtfulness! I will definitely sign up again if I have the chance!
Our tour guide, Hikaru, was incredibly thoughtful, introducing the itinerary, attractions, features, and local cuisine in three languages. She wanted to ensure every traveler understood and appreciated each site and its unique characteristics, preventing language from being a barrier to the trip. This also made everyone feel comfortable and at ease. Furthermore, Hikaru proactively anticipated and attended to the needs of the group members. Although the weather wasn't ideal and the scenery was quite hazy, Hikaru's sunny enthusiasm and the group's clear understanding of her explanations, coupled with their strong cooperation, made the trip run smoothly. We even got to see the highly anticipated fireworks, creating wonderful memories.
Our tour guide, Kevin, was excellent, thoughtful, and humorous, making the entire trip very enjoyable. Kevin deserves half the credit for this itinerary! Lake viewing was the highlight of this tour, with the small fireworks display at the end serving as a nice embellishment. The tranquility of the lake was truly refreshing for both mind and body. Regarding the bear farm admission and the final fireworks cruise, both are optional. Personally, I recommend skipping the bear farm and spending that time seeing Showa Shinzan instead, as it's more worthwhile. For the fireworks cruise, while it offers a panoramic view from the lake (the fireworks boat moves around, so you might only see parts from the shore), it only lasts about 25 minutes (around 8:45 PM - 9:10 PM Japan time). You can decide if it's worth it for you.
A later departure time means you don't have to wake up too early in the morning, and it's more comfortable to get on the bus after lunch. Although there are places to eat along the way, time is tight, so you can only buy some snacks. The tour guide was very experienced, introducing Hokkaido and the highlights of the tour from the moment we set off. Thanks to the tour guide and driver for taking us on a 10-hour trip, and we even got to soak in the Toya Lake hot springs! After the hot springs, buying a bottle of fruit wine to drink was incredibly relaxing. Those who want to get on the boat should do so early to secure a good spot for the fireworks.
Lucy is the most dedicated and responsible tour guide I've encountered in recent years. From departure to our return home, all the itinerary explanations were incredibly clear, allowing us to travel with peace of mind. Lucy provided us with a wealth of knowledge about Hokkaido's history, culture, and culinary scene, ensuring that we not only relaxed comfortably on the bus but also enjoyed comprehensive and fascinating commentary. Our bus driver was also extremely conscientious, with excellent driving skills. He maintained stability even on winding mountain roads. For long-distance bus tours, a reliable driver is essential, and today's driver truly showcased the meticulous and diligent side of the Japanese people. I am very satisfied with this tour, and the itinerary planning offered exceptional value! I will definitely participate again in the future! I also hope to specifically request Lucy to be my five-star tour guide! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The weather wasn't great, which was a shame, but the tour itself was very well-organized. Usually, bus tours with Korean guides go to both Noboribetsu and Lake Toya, but for someone like me who wanted to visit Noboribetsu and Lake Toya separately, this tour was the best option. The guide doesn't speak Korean, but they are fluent in English, Japanese, and Chinese, so if you can understand or speak one of those three languages reasonably well, you should definitely consider booking this tour. I was surprised to see someone so young fluent in three languages! Especially since it's an afternoon tour, if you arrive on a morning flight, you could drop off your luggage at Sapporo Station and head straight to the tour. Everything about the tour was great, except for the weather. The final fireworks show was also beautiful and spectacular, even if not quite as much as in the pictures! I'd probably book it again.
The transportation was convenient, and the itinerary was comfortable and enriching. Personally feeding bears biscuits and cruising Lake Toya to enjoy the nighttime fireworks 🎆 was truly a unique experience and very enjoyable. Our tour guide, Andy Harita, was kind, friendly, witty, humorous, and attentive. This tour offered excellent value for money 👍🏻👍🏻
We were quite lucky this time; the weather, which was supposed to be rainy, was mostly overcast. We were also fortunate enough to see the Lake Toya fireworks from the boat. They were miniature fireworks, but they added a special memory to our Lake Toya trip. Our tour guide, Eric, recommended photo spots and delicious local food at every attraction, ensuring we were well-fed and happy throughout the entire tour.
