What to expect

At our restaurant, we use carefully selected seasonal ingredients chosen by the owner, who has honed his discerning eye through market training. To conclude the course, we offer meticulously prepared Takikomi-gohan (炊き込みご飯, Japanese mixed rice) made with locally sourced Omi rice. Leveraging techniques cultivated over many years of training at famous restaurants in Tokyo and Kyoto, our dishes maximize the inherent qualities of the ingredients, resulting in delicate and subtly flavored masterpieces. The interior, a renovated Kyoto townhouse, features traditional Kyoto "earthen walls," creating a calming atmosphere. At our meticulously designed counter seats, you can savor the atmosphere of the ancient capital while enjoying the live cooking experience, including the sounds of ingredients being seared and the tantalizing aromas that stimulate your appetite. We strive to provide hospitality that satisfies all five senses. Please come and experience a uniquely Japanese dining experience that appeals to all five senses, not just your sense of taste.

Kyo Kaiseki KINMATA (近又) in Kyoto

Established in 1801, the first generation was from Omiya, and was called Omiya Matabachi. At first, he opened "Omiya" on the hexagonal string in Kazutani-cho. At that time, it was the usual place for drug dealers in Omiya. The two-story wooden building, the entrance made of red shells, the bamboo garden, and the cypress bath with an umbrella-shaped ceiling are typical of Kyoto townhouses for more than 200 years. It is still open for business as usual.
