What to expect
Atop the cliffs of the Dangrek Mountains sits the Temple of Preah Vihear, a place of ruin and beauty preserved by nature and survived by culture. Explore the magnificent temple that dates back to the 9th century, older than the famous Angkor Wat, another Hindu temple in Cambodia. Considered as a masterpiece of the ancient Khmer Empire, uncover religious Hindu culture by traversing well-preserved ruins, authentic in its architecture and style. If you’re staying in downtown Siem Reap, journey to the temple by a convenient hotel pick up. After a 3-hour travel, gaze upon the remnants of Preah Vihear, mark its intricate stone ornamentations, and vast, clear views of Cambodian plains. For a more detailed tour around the temple complex, you can choose to hire a tour guide near the area. The UNESCO World Heritage Site, surrounded by a lush jungle and a serene environment, demands to be implored in careful detail. Comprising of four courtyards and five, ornate gopurams – entrance gateways to Hindu temples – the last vestiges of the Khmer Empire is truly a wonder to behold.

Reviews
We had a memorable tour. The guide and driver arrived at hotel lobby on time at 8 am. It was a private tour in air-conditioned SUV having ample chilled water bottles which was a relief on a sweltering day and long journey. It took us 3 hours to reach Preah Vihear ticket counter. Another 4x4 jeep took us up the steep mountain road. Our guide walked us through the path up to the main temple past the 3 gates. The beauty of the place is breathtaking. After a quick snack, we went to Koh Ker. The pyramid temple was stunning. The brick gates were beautifully sculptured. We visited another temple with an intact Shivlinga. We were able to self pace our tour considering the hot day. Our guide was with us very step with detailed historical knowledge of every nook and corner. We are thankful to our guide Mr Tola and driver Mr Yang for a wonderful day. Highly recommended.
A bit expensive, but the tour was really worth the price. Good car, good and friendly driver. For me, it is a 10/10, clearly.
The driver and my guide for the day, Ry, were on time and picked me up at my hotel. Ry is very knowledgeable about the temples and their histories. It was an exhausting day with Koh Ker added to the tour. However it was worthwhile.
I was very satisfied with the tour. Our guide, Pip, who can speak both English and Japanese, was very kind and it was a good decision to ask him to be our guide as well as our driver. I would definitely like to ask him again next time I come to Siem Reap. I recommend this tour if you are going to Preah Vipheap and Koh Ker with a Japanese guide.
great tour guide. even saw an extra temple with my awesome guide.
The driver picked me up on time and he was very knowledgeable. The drive to Preah Vihear is about 3 hours and they provide you with cold water once you finished exploring the temple. Do note that you still have to pay ticket for the temple ($10) and motorbike ($5) to get to the temple.
Also not included is the transport uphill and downhill from carpark. $5 for a motorbike and $25 a for car.
Great, the sacred ancient temple of the Khmer
Best services. The driver came on time. He was very friendly and rich knowledge about Cambodia' history. After a long day driving, hot day climbing in the moutain, he gave us a cold water. Very nice.
Journey is 3hours each way. Need to pay USD25 per 6seater van from bottom to top of mountain (temple). I had 7people but they did not allow to squeeze to 1 van, ended up paying USD50. Admission fee USD10 per person. Only had 1hour to stay on top
Thank you for choosing Klook and for taking the time to leave us a review. We're sorry to hear that you had a bad experience during the activity. We definitely take your feedback extremely seriously. This has been noted and passed to the local operator for future improvements. We appreciate your understanding. Thank you!
