Eligibility
- Children aged 12+ will be charged the same rate as adults
- Child tickets, concession tickets, and senior tickets are only available to travelers holding a Taiwanese national ID card.
- Discounted Tickets (Children, Senior, Concessionary) Eligibility Description:
- Please keep the identification documents of preferential passengers safe. Taiwan High Speed Rail reserves the right to inquire about and retrieve such data. If it is found that the booking identity differs from the boarding identity, passengers will be charged the difference between the full fare and the preferential fare, plus an additional 50% of the aforementioned fare difference.
- Child Ticket Purchase Instructions:
- Children under 12 years old may purchase child tickets. Children under 115 cm in height may travel for free without occupying a seat, but must be accompanied by a full-fare paying adult or an adult passenger. Each passenger is limited to bringing a maximum of 2 free-of-charge children. Children over 150 cm in height and under 12 years old, or children over 115 cm in height and under 6 years old, must present proof of identity.
- Senior Citizen Ticket Purchase Instructions:
- Republic of China nationals and foreign nationals aged 65 (inclusive) or older on the day of travel may purchase senior citizen tickets with valid identification documents.
- Instructions for purchasing concession tickets:
- Republic of China nationals holding a physical and mental disability handbook, and one necessary accompanying person, may purchase a concession ticket. This system currently does not provide reservations for accessible seating. If passengers require accessible seating, please call the High-Speed Rail Customer Service Hotline: 4066-3000 (for Miaoli, Taitung, Kinmen, Matsu areas and mobile phones, please dial 02-4066-3000. All calls are charged at standard landline and mobile phone rates) or purchase tickets at any station's ticket counter.
