Nagarkot Sunrise Tour

We set off from the hotel at 4:30 in the morning and reached the observation deck in one hour. The mountain road conditions were not bad. The rainy season has just passed. Although there is no rain, the morning is still mostly foggy and cloudy, and in the end only a little morning light is seen. It seems that the very expensive flight to see Mount Everest can be saved. There are stalls near the observation deck selling snacks and drinks, as well as freshly fried Nepalese donuts. The entire half-day tour takes about 3-4 hours to return to a hotel in Kathmandu, and you still have time to have breakfast at a restaurant.

The tour guide and driver were punctual and polite. They were very friendly as well. The tour guide would occasionally give me information and history of the place. But I was a bit disappointed with the itinerary. When we reached Nagarkot, we just walked for 5mins then we were at the top. I was expecting a hike or a walk around the village but didn’t happen. We did not see the Himalayas nor Mt Everest due to fog and haze. I was so sad 😢 Anyway, the sunrise was still beautiful!

Driver and Guide were punctual in picking me up from hotel. In about an hour we arrived the viewpoint and the scenery was amazing. The Guide also treated me coffee and after the hearty drinks, we were back in hotel. A refreshing morning indeed.
