Had a wonderful 3 day stay at the Fairmont Breakers in Long Beach California while visiting family. Made great use of the pool and gym for the entire stay and took advantage of the free car service too (3 mile radius of the property).

Below average
Paid around 1000$/night. Yet, was asked to pay for a late check out. Room had a very loud rattling sound coming from the sprinkler system. Asked staff to clean the room but didn’t happen.

Beware hidden costs. Hotel is nice, they oversold and we had to be put in a room on a separate floor to our children in the first night. The staff were friendly and apologetic but it still took them until 5pm the next day to spurt out the room we had paid for. But that wasn’t the really annoying bit. Could’ve lived with that as overall it’s a lovely hotel, with a nice nostalgic vibe. However between a daily $50 Urban Experience Fee (which is mandatory and little more than a hidden tax) and $55 overnight valet parking, the extra charges left a bit of a bad taste in the mouth. Probably wouldn’t come again because of that. Prefer to know all my costs upfront
