Everything about this place was great. I guess the only thing that didn’t work quite well was the limousine service (that would’ve been free) but the electrical vehicle was being charged as we had arrived a little late to the hotel (at 8pm). We also got a free breakfast, but it wasn’t quite communicated as to what kind of breakfast it was.

It’s a beautiful hotel—well-presented, clean, and overall lovely. However, the staff experience was disappointing. We arrived for check-in after 4 PM (around 4:30), and our room wasn’t ready. We had an event at 6 PM and needed to prepare, yet we waited 20 to 30 minutes. While they offered two complimentary drinks, I would have preferred timely access to the room. Additionally, they charge around $45–$50 for an “urban experience” that includes a house car service. When I requested the house car for a short 2.3-mile trip, I was told it wasn’t available—despite seeing the hotel-branded SUV parked outside. These issues—delayed readiness and unreliable service—left a poor impression. It’s not the cheapest hotel, but these shortcomings made me unwilling to stay there again.

My husband and I recently celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary with an overnight stay at the Fairmont Breakers, and it exceeded our expectations. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully designed. Our room was modern, comfortable, and filled with natural light, making it a wonderful place to relax and unwind. Throughout our stay, every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and genuinely focused on providing excellent service. Our anniversary dinner at Sky Room was spectacular. The food, service, and atmosphere made the evening feel truly special and memorable. We also enjoyed cocktails and light bites at La Sala, which were excellent, and brunch at Nettuno was equally impressive. We spent time at the pool, enjoyed lunch and a few beers, and appreciated every aspect of the experience. From the accommodations to the dining and service, everything was top-notch. As Long Beach residents, we’re proud to have such a beautiful destination in our own city. We hope to make a stay at the Fairmont Breakers an annual anniversary tradition and look forward to returning.

Pick to somewhere else to stay in LBC and you will be disappointed. Fairmont Breakers was by far one of the best hotel I’ve stayed. The decor in itself was great. I’d love to see more dining options on the first floor and an expanded bar. The rooftop staff were beyond amazing. The three days I stayed, they provided personalized attention to my drink selection each time! Restaurant was the best choice. I think it’s very overpriced and has a very limited selection. I feel like I waisted an evening of dinner there.

The staff were exceptional, the facility was spotless, and the food we ordered was excellent. I don’t drink alcohol myself, but my daughter absolutely loved the rooftop pool bar and couldn’t stop talking about the experience. As someone who works in the people business and places a high value on customer service, I can honestly say that I have never received better service at any hotel. The team consistently went above and beyond. During my stay, I experienced some health challenges, and the staff were incredibly accommodating. One employee even helped secure a stool to get in the car for me and assisted me in getting to one of my training sessions when walking became difficult. Their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care made a lasting impression. This was, without question, one of the best hospitality experiences I have ever had, and I cannot say enough positive things about the team. If I had to offer one area for improvement, it would be the room service delivery fee. Paying a $7 delivery charge for an $8 coffee felt a bit excessive. However, if that’s the biggest complaint I can find, it speaks volumes about how outstanding the overall experience truly was.

The guy at the counter was so nice! He definitely made our stay an enjoyable one and we are grateful that he treated us with respect as we definitely did not look our best after being up so early from departing from our cruise and waiting until 3pm to check in! I wish we got his name, but he was from Vallejo. We definitely will book again when we are in town thanks to that young man.

Our stay at the Fairmont was lovely, we received a clean, bright room and bathroom. The only thing we're stumped by is the rather extornate fees for valet parking $50 a night and all the country taxes etc that are added to the bill. Though you're offered a complimentary drink during your stay you actually pay for it via various channels that are not transparent upon booking the stay. It would be much more considerate if all extra fees were shown at the time of booking. Not only are you expected to tip the valet guys but also pay the hotel valet fee which makes parking a car at the hotel outrageously expensive and which I don't believe is fair and reasonable. We also received dollar credits towards breakfast which falls short of what breakfast actually costs based upon a single course and cup of coffee. Another marketing ploy which doesn't favour the guest. We in the UK much prefer transparent costs and what is and isn't included at the time of booking so we can decide if it's affordable. On top of the costs tips have to be provided which is not something we're familiar with in UK so it's very tricky to budget.

The room was clean but lacked amenities, Shower gel dispenser was empty, had to request they fill it. Cotton swabs never replenished. Service was not very friendly. Breakfast was horrible, worst breakfast I have had at a suposably FIVE STAR HOTEL. I would rate this a THREE stars hotel. The ownly friendly were the checkin and personal outside the hotel who recieved your when you arrival and left the hotel. Incredible for being a Fairmont Hotel! Bar very bad service , personal were never there.
