The location is convenient, although its centralness meant it was loud and touristy. We checked in late at night and the doors were locked, we had to wait for quite a bit until someone showed up. The hotel staff offered valet parking but they left my car on the curb past the bylaw hours, and I got a parking ticket as result. I was offered nothing in compensation. The rooms themselves are amazing, amenities are modern and everything's clean and nice.

We stay in Edinburgh alot because our daughter goes to uni over there, but this was the first time at Virgin - picked primarily because of it being close to a marathon she was running. The location is wonderful, walking distance to everything and all main attractions. Only complaint is it is on a one of those streets you must see and that comes with alot of tourists, which made it a bit noisy at night. The staff was fabulous. We asked for a late check out because of the marathon and they were very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.

I had a very enjoyable stay at Virgin Hotels Edinburgh and would highly recommend it. A special thank you to Zack at the front desk, who was excellent. I had accidentally picked the wrong room, and Zack went out of his way to help move us to a better fit. He also assisted with our bags and kindly left a nice note, which was genuinely appreciated. That kind of thoughtful service makes a big difference. The hotel itself is a little unusual at first because of how it is structured. The main floor is actually on the 6th floor, and the hotel seems to run both up and down from there. Once you figure it out, it adds to the character of the place. The location is excellent central and easy to get out to the Royal Mile and explore Edinburgh. The complimentary two drinks were a great touch, so thank you, Virgin. The breakfast buffet was also very good. I also really enjoyed the art and decor throughout the hotel. I am not usually an “artistic type,” but I found the design very interesting and memorable. The reading library room was another nice feature and gave the hotel a comfortable, thoughtful feel. I only wish I could have stayed in Sir Richard Branson’s suite, but that is way above my pay grade! Overall, this is a great hotel with a central location, interesting decor, good food, and excellent staff. Highly recommended from an average guy who really enjoyed his stay.

Incredible hotel in the heart of it all! Hospitality at its best. People at every turn to offer help, answer questions and help with luggage. Great amenities such as breakfast, restaurants in hotel, beautiful fitness center and immaculate clean hallways and rooms. The complimentary water and coffee were appreciated as were the local Scottish treats available to buy in the mini bar. Being located on Victoria Street was dreamy. An absolute perfect hotel experience!

Central location, surrounded by fantastic bars and restaurants. The hotel it's self has restaurants and bar with excellent choice and quality products. Our room was very clean with great facilities.

Very receptive reception staff. I made a mistake on my reservation and they were quick to accommodate. Double check your reservation - I do not remember booking an accessible room but there seemed to be several of us in the hotel with the same mistake. Rooms were well maintained and very comfortable. Gym was spacious but very full each time we visited. Breakfast was ample. The staff were responsive initially to ask for drink orders but very slow to help after the initial encounter (lots of chatting but not many assessing the follow-up needs at tables). This was the rule during our multiple night stay (not an outlying experience), and at the price point, I was disappointed. Because of that, I would think twice about paying for breakfast. Many restaurants are available in the area. Other than breakfast staff, I had a 5 star stay. Looking forward to a return visit.
