Discover the heritage of the former Riau Kingdom that once ruled their namesake islands and large parts of modern day Indonesia, Singapore, and Southern Malaysia. Your tour will start with a transfer from your hotel/accommodation to the pier, where you’ll board a boat with your guide to cross over to Penyengat Island. Once on the island, you’ll hop on a baechak (similar to a tuk tuk) with your guide and head around the island to see the sights. Penyengat Island has a rich cultural history as the former home of the Riau royal family and many sites are currently being nominated for UNESCO World Heritage status. You’ll visit the former palaces of the Riau Kingdom, the Royal Mosque, the former forts of the invading Dutch, and many other interesting sites on the island. Finish off the day with a Indonesian set lunch at a local restaurant, then you’ll be able to enjoy a 60 min traditional massage at a local spa if you opted for this package.
Discover the real Bintan with this tour to Senggarang Water Village, a floating settlement built upon the sea. Your trip will begin with a transfer from your accommodation to the engaged port of Tanjung Pinang, passing by scenes of local life in Bintan. At Tanjung Pinang, you’ll board a water taxi to Senggarang Village, one of the oldest Chinese settlements in Bintan. This village hosts two of the oldest temples on the island, one dedicated to the seafaring ancestors of the local Chinese community and the other to an ancient banyan tree located near the community. Back at Tanjung Pinang, you'll enjoy an Indonesian set lunch at a restaurant and have a chance to browse through the local markets for some fresh fruit and dried seafood. Relax with an optional massage at a local spa before heading back.

What people are saying about Island Tours in Bintan
It was an educational tour by our guide who took us to the local temples and places of interests. The Senggarang village tour gave us a glimpse of the history of early Chinese settlers in Bintan and remnants of a bygone era where early immigrants lived their lives. The village now has mainly elderly and not much signs of youth besides the school there.
We had our communications in the tour mostly in Mandarin so the experience might be different for others who can only converse in English
It was a pleasant tour seeing the lives of the locals in Bintan. Duration was just right and the Long travelling time in the car was a good way to block away from the scorching hot Sun. There was only 2 of us so there was practically no waiting time and it was a smooth day trip to South Bintan.
The guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful and he was able to communicate well with us in Mandarin as well as highlight the differences between SG’s and Bintan’s lifestyle. He was a safe driver and the itinerary was planned to ensure that we covered all places listed in the itinerary before he sent us back to the hotel safely.
Highly recommend if you’re coming to Bintan for leisure and would like to just take a glance at the local Bintan life.
