We visited lovely places. Even though Zsansee is made for tourists is nice end worth to see. Edam is beautiful city which you must strolling around. Volendam, especially the lower, old fisherman's village, is also
The lady guide and the driver was kind, professional an cooperative, deserves all credits.
Value for money. We had fun throughout our trip. Our tentatives went smooth as per our planned. The scenery was good and memorable. I would like to recommend this service especially for the first timer to this place. It was really convenient and peace of mind. No need to crack your head to think about transport and so on.
Had an amazing time in the countryside, saw a different side of the Netherlands and it was a nice breather out of Amsterdam. The tour was well planned although a little rushed sometimes. Coach was comfortable. Educational demonstration in the windmill, cheese factory and clog factory. Would definitely recommend trying the optional kibbeling meal in Volendam.
A must visit attraction! Easy redemption as you can exchange ticket at any meeting point. The visit was enjoyable and our tourist guide-Richard really informative. We learnt a lot about Dutch culture during our visit. The timing was well-planned to cover all the attractions. It was a memorable trip despite a wet and windy day.
Great tour, got to see lots of different parts of Netherlands. Started at the Windmills, cute little town. Would have been good if we had more time to look around. You go inside a Windmill and are shown how they are used to cut wood, interesting. Next stop is Volendam with the cheese factory and stroopwaffles. Another cute little town. I expected the tour through the cheese factory to be longer, spent as much time trying to sell you the cheese but no pressure to buy. Had lunch near by and some free time to look around. Stroopwaffle demonstration was fun, great to buy as gifts to bring home. Next we jump on the boat and head to Marken to see the Wooden Shoe Factory. Marken was another cute town, but we went on the evening tour. I would recommend doing the day as during winter the sun sets early and it was dark when we arrived. The Wooden Shoe Factory was fun, watch them make a wooden shoe using 100 year old machines. Then try on a pair of clogs and lots of different varieties to buy. Lastly, back on the bus back to the station. Guides were great, friendly and helpful.
Tour started with exchanging tickets at The Tours & Tickets Center at the Centraal Station. Be sure to arrive 30 minutes before the schedule departure time so that you can exchange your voucher to a paper ticket which is necessary for the tour. This will also give you time should you need to use the restroom or get a coffee prior to the tour. There’s no toilet facilities inside the bus; however, paid-toilets are available at most of the attractions.
Upon boarding, you’ll be given a set of earbuds and a bracelet which allow you to listen to the audio tour and entry to the Windmill.
Tour guides will introduce themselves and start driving on time.
First stop was the Windmill village which was about 10 minutes from Centraal Station where you’ll enter an area full of windmills which are amazing for pictures. You might be tempted to take pictures while tour guides are leading you to the windmill that they want you to go in for the tour; so make sure you snap those pictures quickly so you won’t lose them. You’ll have chance to take pictures and buy not chocolates after the introduction inside the windmill is over.
Afterwards, we were taken to Volendam (20 minutes ride) where there is the cheese factory which you’ll be impressed as you taste different age and type of cheese. Then, you’ll be dismissed for Lunch where they recommend you to go, but you’re free to go to anywhere you want. You’re at that time also invited to a Stroopwaffles tour where you can watch how they’re made and taste them.
Afterwards, you’ll be taken on a ferry (25-minute ride) which will bring you to Markens where the wooden shoes were made. You’ll watch how they’re made and have chance to purchase them if you would like to.
This also concludes the tour and the bus will take you back to Centraal Station.
This tour is worth the money and definitely very informative. I’d recommend everyone who’s new to the city !
