This was one of the most memorable experience we had in ubud! Learning to make their local food & enjoy them. The instructors were all super friendly and nice. We had transport from our hotel to the class & back. Before the class we also had a mini tour around the rice field. Would definitely recommend tourists to try this at least once!
Amazing experience! We cooked in front of the pool with incredible views. The cooks were very very professionals and explained us all the steps of the food preparation very nicely. We had a ton of fun and you get to enjoy the food you cook in the pool area with the astonishing views of the green Ubud jungle. Perfect to do with your partner or with a small group of friends!
Whether it's a family business, my father and son are in charge of our guidance, and my mother prepares the dishes and ingredients. It was great that my father tried to tell me more about this and that. True Balinese ~~ Non-tour market tour is also recommended. It was fun to compare farming with rice fields in Korea, and I also saw fruits and banana leaves in the market. We bought mangosteen and it cost 20000 rupees per kg. It was cheaper than living in the center of Ubud and it was good because there was no bargaining stress and the quality was the best. In addition, bananas and snake puppets are also sold as fresh ones. It was nice to explain how to cook and let me try it myself, but it is a little difficult. Because I have to stand still, sit down and drink water. Haha, but it was good because it seemed to me because I wanted to let you know and experience one more thing. Ah, Indonesia is strong and it gets tired as time goes by. TT ㅠ Do it when you're not tired as soon as you go. All the food was good .. And even though I kept saying that I would wrap it at the end, all the people who participated in it were fed up with Indonesian food, so I rejected it. I don't like it ... I wanted to take care of a little, but .. The food is all delicious .. ㅠㅠ If you try it once, you won't regret it. The groom who whispered that he didn't want to do it made fun.
We arrived early as we arranged our own transport there. As we had to wait for the other group to commence the class, the host showed us around the house and introduced some local fruits they grew. When the other group came, we went to the local market. Personally thought the trip to the local market was unnecessary as we did not actually get anything from the market for the class.
Class itself was nice, the host gave clear instructions and guided us as the lesson went. At the end of the lesson, we had the food we cooked for lunch.
Had such a great day! Picked up on time and headed to the kitchen. We were instructed in what we were making and all the ingredients involved. We then set to make our dishes. We were able to try them as we cooked and then at the end of the day we got to eat our food, we were certainly well fed! Everyone involved were so nice and helpful and we are so happy we chose to do this activity, you won’t be disappointed so get booking!!
Wayan took us to the market and showed us some of the ingredients used in Balinese cooking. A very rich experience. We also got to try some local pancakes and fruits.
The class was also very fun. You get to do the fun stuff and the repetitive and hard work such as pounding to finish was done by their experienced team.
