As a solo traveller this was the perfect half-day experience. Bicycling on flat paths through the rice fields, stopping for a ride on a very passive buffalo, then being paddled down the river in a coracle . We stopped to watch the local men dancing and swaying their boats on the water to some very loud music and watched a fishermen casting his net in typical Vietnamese style. This all ended with a pleasant Vietnamese lunch in an open house on the riverbank. Hosts were friendly. An easy, relaxed, activity to full in half a day and experience a little more of the local culture.
We stayed 2 nights in hoi an. Less activities we can do in such small ancient town. It was first time (I think will be last) my family re ‘learn & cooking’ together. It was unique & memorable during my da nang trip. A pair of long bamboo chopsticks was given as souvenir. Food portion & choices are too much for us... :-) good to explore food culture in Vietnam
Just a 40 min ride from Da Nang and you find yourself in Hoi An (aka Vietnamese Venice) - a beautiful of yellow bikes, colorful buildings with picturesque flower gardens on their balconies, friendly people, craftsmen of all kinds, freshly roasted coffee on every corner.
Go further and take a bike tour to discover picturesque views of rice fields, ride a buffalo (it looks like they take good care of the animal), take a boat trip through coconut jungles, meet some craftsmen and watch splashy water performance, and finally enjoy your meal at a cozy restaurant right next to the river (btw you they can arrange a cooking class for you there as well).
Everything went according to the plan, and was very well organized. The tour guy was very nice, and took lots of beautiful pictures during the tour. Very good experience, I would recommend this tour.
The tour was arranged perfectly. Tour guide speaks great English and maybe some Chinese too. (It was a English tour)
However, we thought we were gonna see the sunset at My Son to get some cool photos during the magic timing. It was actually happening on the boat to Hoi An old town. We still got some very cool photo at My Son. Highly recommended this tour.
It’s a lovely activity to try. Cycling through the streets of Hoian and manoveuring to the paddy fields was challenging yet so fun. The coconut basket is an experience you should try at least once. The performance put up was fun and cute. Lunch at the local restaurant was simple yet delicious. Long, our guide was most helpful and informative.
Had such a lovely morning on this tour. Tour guide was very attentive and friendly, made effort to engage and involve everyone and provided useful information and facts about the area and locals. Tour guide also was happy to take plenty of pictures for us. The lunch served was very tasty, at a restaurant with lovely views of the river. Would definitely recommend!
