About the event

Concert Introduction

yunchan1122-1194x556

“It has been inspiring to witness a talent of Yunchan’s magnitude… His spectacular performance of Rachmaninov's third piano concerto showed that even at the age of 18 he already exhibits exceptional depth and dazzling technique.” (Marin Alsop, renowned conductor)

Altenburg Arts is excited to present South Korean pianist Yunchan Lim, gold medallist at the 16th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition this year. At 18 years of age, Lim is the youngest ever winner of the gold medal.

For his winner’s concert in Singapore – and his Singapore debut – Lim will bring a varied selection of Romantic masterpieces by Brahms, Mendelssohn and Liszt, ranging from the serene and lyrical, to the darkly confessional, to the brilliant, culminating in the sizzling diablerie and grandeur in Gothic proportions of Liszt’s Dante Sonata.

This recital is presented in collaboration with The Cliburn and Liu Kotow International Management & Promotion.
