Moto was awesome guide took me to some wonderful places i will go back to tomorrow. thank you so much. izakaya, sake bar and to top it off beautiful whiskey with a great barman. Dōmo arigatō
We loved the tour with Moto; he was super friendly and attentive. The bars he showed us were very local, which gave us an authentic experience of Japanese nightlife. We also learned a lot about sake, about Japanese food that pairs well with the drinks, and we met people from other parts of the world with whom we shared the experience. At the last bar, Mr. 2 was also very friendly, and he was the one who recommended a spectacular ramen place to end the night, and it was a total success! A fun, authentic, and highly recommended experience.
Aoi, our tour guide was great! Her meet up instructions were clear and easy. She was knowledgeable and pointed out some great historical facts and areas while on our tour. Our group went for some local food with shared plates and then had a sake tasting and went to a hidden whiskey bar. It was great to get to go to places we may not have known about or considered. It was a fun evening and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for interesting experiences in Kyoto
Great Kyoto local bar and izakaya crawl. The guide was friendly, easy to follow and brought the group to places that would be hard to find alone. It was a good way to experience local nightlife, try different food and drinks, and meet other travellers. The pace was comfortable, and the bars had a relaxed local atmosphere. The tour made ordering easier, especially for visitors who do not speak Japanese. Good value for a 3-hour evening experience in Kawaramachi. Recommended for anyone who wants a simple and fun night out in Kyoto.
Masa was an amazing tour guide! He knew a lot of amazing local stops. The sake spot amazing. The last whiskey Bar (Bar Two)…. perfect. Best whiskey guidance/knowledge. Best music. Amazing place, amazing tour. Thank you for a perfect night Masa.
One of the best things we did while in Kyoto. We booked this experience as a date night, our guide was super friendly, informative and took us to some fabulous local spots that we would have never found. 10000% recommended. We finished the evening with Karaoke, which totally topped off the evening.
Such a fun way to spend my last night in Kyoto! The izakaya tour was a blast—Aoi was cheerful, informative, and made everyone feel at home. We even went for karaoke after the tour, which made the night even more unforgettable. Definitely the perfect send-off before leaving Kyoto!
Our guide, Moto, showed us a fantastic time! We had a larger group of 16 people, but it still felt intimate and we were able to get to know everyone over the course of the night. The night started with a walk through Kawaramachi neighborhood to a traditional Izakaya, where you can order your choice of drinks. Moto ordered a great variety of traditional Japanese bar food, from sashimi to tempura. Aterwards, we walked over to a sake tasting where we tried 4 different varieties of sake local to Kyoto. The night ended in a small and cozy bar with an excellent selection of Japanese whiskies - one drink order per person is required, though if whiskey isnt your thing they have other options as well. Throughout, Moto was able to give interesting facts. Tips: the tour does not include the price of food and drink at the various stops. I would bring between 5000 to 10000 Yen in cash per person depending on how much you plan on drinking! Tabs are easily split between groups and Moto was able to make it easy. It was a fun and memorable experience and you'll find hidden gems that would otherwise be difficult to find alone.
Taiga was a really good host and got to know about Japanese culture. also made us tast a variety of drinks.
Mia is amazing! If it's your first time in Japan and you want to learn about the culture, meet new people, and interact with people from different countries, then you absolutely must join this activity. We visited three different types of bars. I recommend bringing enough cash to easily split the bill. Thanks again to Mia for her company and for arranging everything. I can personally confirm that it's perfectly safe for female solo travelers!
