Reviews
the price was a bit daunting to book through Klook especially it being my first time on the app. I booked it for our small family of 4 including 2 kids 5 and 8. It was offered through HIS, a large local tourism company in Japan. our local guide was very professional. The dinner with the Maiko san was amazing. I tipped her and the guide in the end. we went in Jan so it was freezing. so I had the girls wear two layers of heat tech underneath kimono. be aware you have to bring everything with you after you change and bring it with you to the numerous tourist spots before dinner. if dining with a maiko was always on your bucket list, do it. it’s worth it! you get to chat with her and watch her perform a dance and play a quick game with her :)
Sachiko-san was a wonderful guide and did a great job showing us all the sights and getting great photos. A word of warning, however: if you have ladies in the group that are taller or larger they will need to be prepared to potentially be told they are too big at the kimono rental location. They do have larger kimonos, but that can be an ego hit for people that aren't prepared. Also, if the ladies haven't worn kimono before and don't understand that they will essentially be in a corset, you may want to consider returning the kimono as soon as possible since they may not be comfortable in them. Especially in hot weather, our female members were not as bought into the kimono for a long period of time.
Good to know
- Minimum number of people 2
- We can pick up travelers or meet them at a meeting point (Kyoto city only)
- Hotel return service is limited to those staying within Kyoto City. If you stay at instead of Kyoto city, you need to return Kimono before dinner. Thank you for your understanding
