It was such a beautiful place to go and see how Batik was made! The woman who helped me was also very talented. The first step is to choose one template out of two boxes so you know what to draw. Then she taught me how to use the traditional wax tool and helped me learn how to control it so I could trace the template. She also helped me when I made a mistake/didn't push the wax too far into the canvas. Highly recommend this class!
It was my first time making batik, but the instructions were clear and easy to understand, so it was a great experience. There were several designs prepared, so I chose one, traced it, traced it with wax, and painted it. I spent too much time on the coloring, so it took just under three hours to complete. If you don't remove the wax, you can dry it with a hair dryer and take it home, but if you want to remove the wax, you will have to pick it up the next day, so I chose to just dry it and take it home that day. It was interesting to see how the color gradations were applied!
i had a great experience. the teacher is also friendly. i was the only student that time i just thought maybe more tourists should know something like thus exists
A good experience even if u not artist. Good and welcome service. Can choose ur favourite template and u paint over it. Guide will show how using hot wax and dye. The finished product can bring home. I love this amazing and cultural activity.
love this kind of activity!! instructor was friendly and professional (15 years of experience, wow!) we get to choose our own design or u can make your own, then paint however you like. we decided to pick up the following day to fully experience the batik process. truly recommended
staff are phenomenonal. I went back following day to pick up my art as I wanted to do traditional way by getting the wax removed. couldn't be more happy with how it turned out. Staff were super helpful and it was lovely watching them create their work.
You can draw and paint batik. You can choose the design you want and draw it along or you can draw your own design. It takes 2-3 hours to draw and paint. The space is spacious and comfortable.
The shop is easy to find. The staff and instructor were very friendly and helpful. This was my first time learning batik painting, and I really enjoyed the process - especially the drawing, waxing, and coloring parts. I highly recommend you try it! I’ll definitely come back again the next time I’m in KL.
I would highly recommend doing the Batik painting workshop when in KL. The guide was very thorough when explaining the instructions and would also complete touch ups to ensure your finished product is perfect.
The on-site teacher’s explanations are clear, and there are many versions of the patterns that you can choose from. Friends who like artistic creation can come and experience it. The cost is also very reasonable. I will come back next time to experience other patterns.
