A Delightful Day at Zhang Mei Ama's Farm! We recently visited Zhang Mei Ama's Farm in Yilan, and it was truly a highlight of our trip! While it's more of a well-maintained petting zoo than a traditional farm, the experience of getting up close and personal with so many adorable animals was fantastic. The capybaras were definitely the stars of the show – so calm and friendly, especially when you offered them some feed. We also loved interacting with the sika deer, alpacas, and even seeing the wallabies and sheep. The farm provides animal feed with your ticket, which makes the interaction even more engaging. The Japanese-style garden adds a charming touch, and the overall environment was surprisingly clean and well-organized, even though it was quite busy during our visit (we went on a Sunday afternoon). They do a good job of managing the crowds, letting visitors in in batches.
The 2.0 site is open already but there seems to be less animals as the original site. Might be still on the process of moving them. The resto and DIY areas are still under construction but almost done. I think in a month or 2, everything will be settled. The site is bigger than the original however, there are no capy pools yet.
Upon arriving, they just scanned the klook QR and gave us printed tickets in exchange. Unfortunately, when we went on a Sunday, the capys were resting so we didn't get to see any. 🥺 That said, still a pretty cool place to visit.
Zhang Mei Ama's Farm in Yilan offers a delightful experience for animal lovers and families. Visitors can interact closely with various animals, including capybaras, in a well-maintained environment. The farm is praised for its cleanliness and organized crowd management, even during peak times. Admission is NTD 200, which includes animal feed and a snack, such as a chewy doughnut or a scallion pancake. For convenience, booking through platforms like Klook is recommended, as they may offer promotions and ensure a smooth experience. Overall, it's a highly recommended destination for those seeking a hands-on animal encounter in Taiwan.
Redeeming the tickets were smooth and easy. We received free grass to feed the animals. Entry is once you get in, you can’t go out and back in. The farm is very clean and the animals were very well maintained. Their chives pancakes is a must try too!
We had a grear experience at Yilan especially at the farm. I dont feel animals being abused. They are well-taken care of. Despite the rain, we are able to have fun the animals. They are cute and very fun to tease. It is also very clean. There is a crowd control and I noticed that the staff clean every now and then so it isn't smelly.
The Zhang Mei Capybara Farm was a fantastic experience! The farm was clean and well maintained, and we had so much fun interacting with the capybaras. It’s definitely worth the visit if you're looking for a unique and enjoyable time with animals 😍
Just follow the staff instructions, if you choose the tickets that includes DIY cooking class, admission plus vegetables plucking, the staff will lead you to the cooking class first. We did muah chee which was cool. The animals were in 3 zones, once you pass one zone you cannot go back. first zone animals are more forward in getting their feed, you may find them "chasing" after you for feed. 2nd zone are smaller animals and they are more chill and 3rd zone are the parrots. To get more feed from the 2nd zone simply post a photo of FB and like their page. The spring onions pancakes is a must try. Wonderful experience with the animals
