What to expect

【Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology】 The Shihsanhang archeological site preserves Taiwan’s prehistoric Iron Age culture from 1,800 to 500 years ago. According to archeological experts, the people may be related to the Ketagalan tribe of the Pingpu people. In 1998, the government officially began to build the Shihsanhang archeological site reserve into the “Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology.” The museum preserves and displays the relics of the ancestors, hoping to introduce the precious prehistoric site to all visitors. In addition, a time bridge is set up, and various special exhibitions are held from time to time, hoping that people can personally experience the historical trajectory of the Shihsanhang culture while enjoying the Tamsui River.

The museum introduces the Shihsanhang culture discovered from the site in a very interesting way, allowing us to know what kind of life the Shihsanhang people lived thousands of years ago. At the same time, special exhibitions are held from time to time, sometimes introducing the historical trajectory of the development of the Tamsui River, and sometimes there are archeological explorations with scientific education significance. The special exhibitions are very easy and interesting, allowing tourists to absorb rich knowledge while entertaining, and at the same time inspire children’s interest in history.
