What to expect

Experience fishing for brown trout or salmon on the calm scenic waters of Lake Mapourika. Relax aboard our comfortable, fully covered fishing charter with qualified local skippers. Troll silently past 900-year-old kahikatea trees and watch for feeding white heron while you wait for a bite. Lake Mapourika lies on the wild sea-run salmon spawning route from the Tasman Sea via the Okarito River. Salmon season runs from October to March, while trout fishing is available year-round — and can be excellent on rainy West Coast days.
