Guide

Chongwu Ancient City Scenic Area is located on the southeastern coast of Huian County, bordering the Taiwan Strait. It was built in the 20th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1387) by Zhou Dexing, Marquis of Jiangxia, to resist Japanese pirates. The main attractions of the scenic area are divided into three parts: the ancient city wall, stone carvings, and coastal reefs. Inside the ancient city wall, the complete stone city landscape is preserved. Visitors can climb the old city wall to overlook the entire sea and gaze at the statue of Mazu, the goddess of the sea. Huian stone carving works are found throughout the scenic area, showcasing exquisite stone carving craftsmanship. The coastal reefs and sandy beaches complement each other, allowing visitors to stroll along the coastline and even catch small shrimp and crabs at low tide. Nearby, visitors can taste local specialty food, fish rolls.
