Guangdong Maritime Silk Road Museum

• The Guangdong Maritime Silk Road Museum, located next to Shili Yintan Beach on Hailing Island, is the first large-scale specialized museum in China dedicated to the culture of the Maritime Silk Road. The most prominent exhibit in the museum is the "Nanhai No. 1" ancient Song Dynasty shipwreck, an 800-year-old merchant ship that has preserved a large number of precious cultural relics, hailed as an important physical testament to the study of the Maritime Silk Road.
• The museum vividly presents the development of ancient maritime trade through ship body displays, unearthed artifacts, scene reconstructions, and multimedia exhibits. Visitors can not only learn about the archaeological findings of the shipwreck up close but also see precious cultural relics such as porcelain, gold, and silver, experiencing the prosperous scene of Song Dynasty maritime commerce.
• Unlike traditional history museums, the focus of the visit here revolves around the real shipwreck.
