What to expect

Enjoy a hands-on Japanese plant dyeing (Kusakizome) experience surrounded by nature. Learn directly from a dyeing artist who grows dye plants in the garden just outside the studio. Choose one item—handkerchief, bandana, or scarf—and dye it yourself using traditional techniques, including shibori tie-dye. Each finished pattern is a surprise. Your work will be dried the same day and can be taken home. While waiting, relax with tea and conversation. Beyond dyeing skills, you can also learn about natural farming and rural life. Suitable for children and families.
