Relaxed Half Day Yarra Valley Wine Tour from Melbourne

From the moment we hopped on the bus, our host Possy set the tone for an incredible afternoon. He was everything you'd want in a guide - amazingly engaging, super knowledgeable, effortlessly funny, and full of genuine passion for the region. You don't just learn about wine with him... you feel the story behind every vineyard. The 12pm start time was perfect - we got to enjoy a slow, relaxing morning before diving into the adventure. And what an adventure it was! We visited three stunning vineyards, each offering exceptional wines that surprised us in the best way. Every tasting felt curated, personal, and memorable. This tour delivered beyond expectations - great wines, breathtaking views, and a host who truly made the experience special. If you're visiting Melbourne, do yourself a favour and book this. It's simply outstanding!

The overall experience was excellent. All wine tastings were included, so there was no need for additional payment. Our guide, Danny, was very humorous and shared recommendations for great restaurants and bars in Melbourne along the way. The optional cheese platter at the second stop was definitely worth trying; for AUD10 per person, the portion was generous and paired perfectly with the wine. We visited a total of three wineries, and they were very generous with the wine samples. The scenery was also fantastic, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

We visited three wineries in total and tasted 17 different wines. The entire trip was very relaxed and enjoyable, and half a day was just the right amount of time. My English isn't great, so there were some terms I didn't understand during the wine tasting explanations, but that's okay; I just followed along and drank the wine.

I highly recommend this tour if you're looking for a fun wine tasting experience in Melbourne. Sean is such a humorous person, and very helpful in guiding us with not only the history of the wineries in Melbourne, but also gave us interesting facts about the places we visited. It was a fun filled day with a lot of laughter.

We did the full day Yarra Valley tour. The half day tour we were booked on was cancelled due to low numbers and were offered the full day instead. Although the full day tour was different to what we had originally booked as we had wanted the morning free on the day the 1/2 day tour was booked, we changed over and had an enjoyable day. Sean our guide from Dancing Kangaroo tours was great. Highly recommended!
