An interesting place to visit to find out more about the Peranakan culture and people. Highly recommended to come with friends or family and they also have options to change into kebayas or batik shirts at a small cost for a more immersive experience. Guide is well knowledged and able to explain many details. This place also offers other classes if you are interested. No regrets coming here!
the tour guide has tremendous knowledge, her explanation also clear and easy to understand.the souvenir also beautiful
Had a wonderful time. The guide was really patient and took effort to walk us through the different exhibits, detailing how life was like for the Peranakans from the 1400s to its modern evolution. Enjoyed ourselves & had a couple of nice family photos taken.

It was a really interesting experience, I got to learn alot about Peranakan culture in Singapore! I was taught the pheonix and peony symbols in architecture and ceramics, wedding customs, and the richness (literally) of Peranakans. I'll definitely want to learn more in the future about this part of Singapore's history.
informative guided tour that explain clearly the essence of the Peranakan Chinese heritage. There are a lot of historical & classics items on display, especially household daily used objects. it’s bring back ‘fond’ memory for some.
The tour was conducted by a very knowledgeable docent, Clarence, and we were very fortunate to have him as our guide. We were able to get to know our heritage, and the traditions, rituals and culture of the Peranakan. As my father is half-Peranakan, he was also able to get to his roots and see the architecture, clothes and artefacts of the Nonya, which was very eye-opening. A must go for an educational and visual experience!
One of the best places in Singapore to take beautiful photos while learning about Peranakan legacy culture is the Peranakan Museum, together with the Katong–Joo Chiat area. The Peranakan Museum is an excellent place to understand the history, traditions, and lifestyle of the Peranakan community. Inside the museum, visitors can learn about important aspects such as Peranakan weddings, family life, religion, food culture, and traditional clothing like the kebaya. The exhibits are well organised and easy to understand, even for first-time visitors. Many displays include colourful porcelain, intricate beadwork, and antique furniture, which make the museum very visually attractive. This makes it a great place not only to learn but also to take meaningful and aesthetic photos.
