I was worried about making it on time for the 8:00 AM tour, as the cruise ship docked at 7:00 AM, but it was fine. European cruises don't have immigration checks, so it's not very crowded, and you can disembark at any port of call within about 15 minutes of docking. Our guide, Ali, provided excellent explanations during the Ephesus ruins tour. However, there are three mandatory stops. This time, they were a sweets shop, a leather jacket shop, and a Turkish rug shop. Each stop takes 20-30 minutes, so those who don't enjoy shopping should be aware.
We enjoyed the tour and our guide, Ali, was wonderful. He provided great information and was efficient in avoiding the crowds.
Our guide was brilliant, very knowledgeable and made the day very interesting. The only disappointed was we booked it for 8:30am and they moved it to 10:00am and said if that time was no good we had to cancel.
