Chongqing 1941 Self-Service Hot Pot Restaurant

tasty! Highly recommended 👍👍! ! The red soup is spicy and not salty, the ingredients are fresh, and there are many choices. The black tofu, crispy meat, and ice jelly are especially delicious and must-order! The dish is quite big, so it’s best to order half a portion per person to avoid wastage. The on-site layout is very unique, with many photo spots and performances. Unfortunately, the performance time was not mentioned on the website or when booking, so I missed it! The sessions are at 2pm, 3:30pm, 5pm and 7pm. Fortunately, we had ordered 2 more coupons under the special offer before. Next week we plan to watch the 3:30 show first and start eating at 5 o'clock. It is said that the eating time is limited to 2 hours, but we ate slowly after ordering, and we were not kicked out after 2 hours. The waiters were all very good. It was a super wonderful Chongqing experience!

Visited Chongqing for the second time in a week, the food and service standards are still excellent! This time we ordered in batches, ordering half a portion or more each time according to our taste, so that we could taste different ingredients without any waste. Still didn’t see the “irregular cheongsam performances”. You need to buy a separate ticket for the intangible cultural heritage Sichuan performance next door. We just went to Yuchaofang in Shibati in the afternoon and didn’t watch it again. According to the introduction, the contents of the two performances are similar. The venue of Chongqing 1941 seems to have better seats, more detailed performances, and relatively higher ticket prices. However, if you can eat hot pot and watch the performance on the same day, you can save walking and time. This time we even happened to meet a small tour group for dinner. If the journey is rushed, it is still worth it.

This is a very beautiful, authentic restaurant that's almost like a museum. The food is delicious, but you have to cook it yourself over a fire, which I wasn't entirely prepared for. Plus, the staff doesn't speak any English, so you have to communicate using a translator. Otherwise, everything is wonderful.

There are many dishes, good service, and the restaurant decoration is unique. It is worth recommending

Food is nice and taste better than the other Mala hotpot around the area. But none of them speak English, think twice if you’re a non-Chinese speaker. I spoke both English and Chinese, met one couple from Germany that only spoke English. Staff was very unhelpful and unapologetic. No one came forward to help until I stood up to assist, and none of the staff wanna take over the situation too. There are some food name too difficult to translate and Is old like to clarify with the staff before I translate to the German, yet no one I could ever ask. None of the staff said anything or a simple Thank You after I solved the situation for them. Their attitude of staff really unacceptable even for Chinese speaker, except one elderly staff who seem like the only one really “works” here.

The all-you-can-eat restaurant is a good deal. I highly recommend it. The spicy hot pot is delicious:))))))
