Cat Cat Village Half-Day Tour from Sapa

When I went to Hanoi, I heard Cat Cat Village was a must-visit, so I booked an afternoon tour. Our guide was a woman named SAO. We were supposed to meet at 2:30 PM, but there was a bit of a wait, perhaps due to a scheduling mix-up. After picking up other tour participants, we headed to Cat Cat Village. There, we saw a waterfall, traditional clothing, and even had the chance to try on some old-fashioned outfits. Since it had rained, the stone steps were damp. We also observed the weaving process, the batik dyeing process, and watched a traditional performance. I thought it would be a relaxing tour, but there was more walking than I expected, and my legs got a bit tired. I saw Vietnamese rice plants, which were taller than Korean rice plants, almost as tall as me. After the tour, dinner was provided, and it was truly a Vietnamese home-cooked meal. I was initially surprised by the menu, as I had never seen these dishes in a restaurant before, but they were mild and easy on the stomach. It was challenging to converse in broken English with people from other countries because our guide spoke English, but I had a great conversation with a friend named Jam from the Philippines. She had traveled to Korea before, so we used translation apps to chat and had a pleasant time. The waterfall in Cat Cat Village was beautiful and perfect for taking photos. Although my legs were sore, it's a place worth visiting at least once. There are plants used for weaving fabric there. However, I didn't touch them because, in Korea, only authorized individuals are allowed to cultivate those plants. Our guide explained everything in detail and took great photos for us. The original plan was for her to drop us off at our hotel after dinner, but we chose to walk back together after eating. It's about a 30-minute walk from the dinner spot to the Pistachio Hotel where I was staying. On the way, we bought some fruit. There's a night market in front of the restaurant where we had dinner. Next to it is ANH Coffee. Their coffee isn't bitter; it has a rich, savory flavor. I went on the afternoon tour, but there's also a morning tour available, so keep that in mind. We met in front of the Sunflower Hotel because the Pistachio Hotel wasn't listed as a pickup location.

We had an amazing experience. Ms. Zu our guide is very hands on, she helped us in dressing up our rented costume. The hiking is no longer difficult for us because she kept on sharing the historical background of the village and the people. A must visit in Sa pa, Vietnam

The tour started with a bus pick-up from our hotel. Our tour guide Phinh was very knowledgeable and spoke English very well. The scenery in Cat Cat Village was beautiful and amazing! The lunch was good and portion quite big for us too. We totally enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend first-time visitors to go for this tour!

Everything was perfect, and we could understand and learn more about the city. The tour guide explained everything so well, showing the most important aspects of the city. I am so grateful for the full experience and dinner afterward, as well as for the care and attention provided.

Took the morning tour and my tourguide is very friendly. She is funny and easy to talk to. Cat cat village is not that crowded when we went there. just to bear in mind that this is village intended for tourist and serves as a ‘mini-museum’, would recommend to do a home stay instead if you wanted to see and experience real Hmong village. Overall, its very fun and informative. will recommend .

When you are visiting Sapa, this should be your number 1 activity as it will emersed you to the local culture and traditions of the village in addition to Sapa arts and culture. Our guide Ms. Trang Thi Xuan is pretty amazing and knowledgeable in the activities and culture if the village. Highly recommended to all holidays makers visiting Sapa soom.

Nice to have the photo taking of the nature & waterfall. There are costumes there to rent. The performance of the show are nice. Many steps to climb up and down, be prepared. And end of the day tour it comes with local lunch.

The guide, Nhu, spoke great English and provided very good explanations of the lives of the Hmong people of Vietnam. When asked further questions, she could explain in great detail about her life, how they weave the clothes, how they sow the seeds, how they farm their lands. I felt like I was speaking to someone who was really in the Hmong community, and who could greatly describe to me their lives. she is amazing. Ask for her if you can.
