What to expect
Suggested Itinerary
- Day 1 Free pick-up within designated areas is available until 20:00 (Huangshan North Railway Station, Huangshan Airport, Tunxi city hotels). If arriving after 20:00, please make your own way to a hotel in Tunxi city. Hotel check-in time is after 14:00. If you arrive early, we recommend you leave your luggage at the front desk.
- Day 2 06:30 Depart for Huangshan Scenic Area, take the scenic area shuttle bus at the transfer center (scenic area shuttle bus fee is included) to Yungu Cableway. Hike or take the cable car up the mountain to visit White Goose Ridge, Beginning-to-Believe Peak, Dream Flower Pen, North Sea Scenic Area, West Sea Scenic Area. If the weather is clear, you can enjoy the magnificent sunset of Huangshan. Cable car up and down the mountain: about 12 minutes for a one-way trip, normal cable car waiting time: about 20 minutes (Yungu one-way 80 yuan/person at your own expense) Walking up and down the mountain: about 3 hours for a one-way trip. There is no guide accompanying you on the way up the mountain. You can agree with the guide on the specific time and place to meet on the mountain in advance. Visit Bright Summit, the second highest peak of Huangshan. Tianhai, Carp Peak, explore Thread of Sky or Carp Cave, visit Hundred Step Cloud Ladder, Jade Screen Pavilion Scenic Area, and enjoy the thousand-year-old Greeting Pine. You can decide to walk or take the cable car according to your physical strength and personal circumstances. Afterwards, take the scenic area shuttle bus down the mountain (20 minutes, scenic area shuttle bus is included) and check into a hotel in Tunxi city.
- Day 3 08:00 Head to “The Painting Village” - Hongcun. The beautiful natural scenery, unique Hui-style architecture, and profound cultural heritage deeply attract tourists from all over the world. After lunch at your own expense, you will be transferred back to Huangshan North Railway Station, the airport, or a hotel in Tunxi city. (As the tour ends relatively late, it is recommended to purchase high-speed train tickets after 16:00 or flights after 18:00.) (The itinerary is for reference only. The specific itinerary is subject to the actual opening of the scenic spot. The tour guide may adjust the itinerary according to the situation of the day.)

The tour guide on that day in Huangshan was very nice. He took good care of us and reminded us to be safe during free activities. It was really a pure play tour. We didn't shop during the whole trip and didn't take us to places with hidden costs. The whole process was very pleasant and the itinerary planning was also reasonable. Huangshan + Hongcun was relatively relaxing and enjoyable. The bus was also very stable, and we could catch up on sleep directly on the bus.
